BOMZ seats? or any inexpensive seat?

I was just wondering if anyone has used these seats.
The seats in my '90 RS are god awfully uncomfortable and SUCK on long drives.
If the BOMZ seats suck does anyone have any recommendations of semi-inexpensive seats?

As I dont really know any cheap seat brands but I will tell you this which I heard either from this forum or another “The Cheap Man Pays Twice”

do it right or do it twice.

i dont drive my teg on long distances so i cant really say how my sparcos are for extended periods

however i do like them for twisty backroads, and the drives to my girlfriends house. for everything else then that i use my truck.

From what I’ve read the '90-'91 RS came with different seats than the GS and LS. I guess they skimped on the padding/lower back support because after a 300 mile drive my back is killing me from these seats.

I understand that the cheap buyer pays twice…

What would you guys recommend?
I’m a rather broke college kid but I drive my car long distances all the time.
Maybe I will just spend the extra $$ and buy just a drivers seat.
What do you guys think?

Thank you guys

i got a generic set of seats from ebay its comfortable ,just the brackets were a pain had to do alot of modification to get them to fit

Thank you guys[/QUOTE]you could certainly find some LS/GS seats cheap if you wanted to do that.

Yeah any cheap racing seat would be shittier then the stock (in my opinion).

In my RS, the driver’s seat has adjustments for “back pressure” (the knob that spins on the side) and also for the “width” of the side bolsters. Is that stock RS or do only GS and LS have that? Because my driver’s side seat is a different color then the rest of the seats, just curious. But this seat (w/e it is :D) is really comfortable, maybe adjust the back pressure if yours has it?

Anyway, to find a comfortable seat for relatively cheap, I’d go to a junkyard and sit in a bunch of seats, find which ones you like (preferably hondas or acuras to make it easier). Write down the year/make/model of the car, and search online for info about installing that particular seat in your car. Some might only require a little bit of welding, others…well…yeah  Good luck!!

That is a special seat from the GSR & the LS-S. Those controls are:
1…Lumbar (the lever) which moves a portion of the seatback forward to better contour to your back’s shape.
2… Side supports (the knob) which move the side bolsters in & out to help hug& support you during corners.

I can’t speak for all LS models, but mine has the lumbar only. I just found an LS-S seat in a junkyard that I’m gonna reupholster.
:getsome: :manual:

NRG, Megan, carry styled seats.

the one up on the seat is a back support adjustment thing to keep you from falling off the boat when you’re sailin thru some chop right?
getting sideways
(@ the track… of course)
yeah finding cheap seats seems to be a bitch
I tried 2x but even though weapon-r brackets work good, all the seats I found ended up being too big (sat too high)
Recaro seats might be good ($400)
I think those are on an NSX
all the wrecking yards seem to be out of seats that don’t have the classic driver’s side rip
my main beef with the stock seat is that you can’t bring the tilt up far enough so during a long drive you’re holding your neck up 4 3 hours to see the road
:violin:

h8crime: When you move the lever it should move the lower back of your seat forward. If it doesn’t move, then it’s broke.

Junkie: If you read the whole thread, you’ll see that I explained that already. If you don’t have the knob, then no special LS-S or GSR seat. It’s a regular LS,GS,RS seat; w/ the lumbar option.
:getsome: :manual:

yeah mine has no fancy levers or anything like that. no lumbar support… no way to bring the seat up or down… no side bolster adjustment… all it has is the slider and the lever to lean the seat back or forward.

I saw a deal on some NRG Seats on HT. Anyone use those?

I got the JDM ITR Recaro seats and they were worth the cost. So comfortable .

so comfortable??? im sure it’s all in your head, since its “JDM”. unless i got money to burn, no way am i gonnna spend $800 or whatever it is you pay for it just so i can say “JDM”. But to each their own. i have a 91’ GS, seat has knob and lever.

Every person who has sat in my passenger seat has said the same thing. And No i did not get them just so i can say i got “JDM”. I got them cause i like the way the feel and they look good as well. I have never really cared about cost when building my car, as long as I get what im paying for. Like you said to each his own, if your happy with your GS seats hey more power to you.

hey ive been trying to do some resurch but not having tons of luck with seats. anyway i did find this site and they have a very good recaro line up. seems like ok prices but idk. does anyone know other sites that i should check out too?
