What kind of boost can I run at this compression to get 250+ whp. I have a T3/t3 with 440 dsm’s and the ecu was tuned for 9lb’s of boost with the stock comp(the main reason I have rebuilt it). I now have SRP 9:1 and eagle rods and I have rebuilt it. I have it set a 5lbs on the wastegate and it is slow. Just doing that until I break in the motor but it feels slow as hell. SO slow that when I take off if I do not use alot of clutch it will stall out. Should I run 9lbs(which is the top spring in my turbonetics wastegate w/o shims) I would like to eventually run 14lbs w/ a proper tune and get around 300 whp. Anything will help. thanks

you can run whatever boost it takes to hit 300-320whp, at which point your fuel injectors will run out of room, making them your limiting factor toward how much boost you can run.
if its an ls motor with the t3t4 your probably looking at about 14-15 psi anyhow to get to the 300ish whp range
what about the head? is it stock? Id highly recommend a serious port and polish, cams, valves, etc and now u could be making 450whp++
stalling out on takeoff. I think that’s a bigger issue. You need to figure out what’s wrong with your motor. Sure you aren’t sitting at like 7:1 compression?

Could we get some specs? Stating the use of a t3/4 is vague without specifications on dimensions. (i.e. compressor/turbine specs)
About compression, you can run higher than 9:1. The higher you go then the more difficult it will be to tune the setup.

I am not sure about the trim of the turbo. I have done a compression test and all of the cylinders are at 150psi. I am still running stupid stupid rich. Not black smoke rich but like black thick grey smoke that looked more like vapor instead of smoke. Very strong smell coming from the smoke like fuel and mucho fuel in the oil after 5 min. of running with new oil and plugs as well as xenocron chipped ecu with a base map for the mods listed. I have tested just about everything and can not figure out why there is so much gas getting into the cylinders. I have changed the fpr. I have 40psi of fp and around 50-60 at part to full throttle. I have 440s and a resistor box. With the new chip it idles great and pulls good at 8 lbs of boost but smokes hella much but it looks like vapor and smells like straight up gas and when I pull the plugs out there is standing gas on all of the cylinders but more on the 1 and 2 cylinders even after the chip. I thought it was the Vafc but took it off and nothing different. anything will help
