Ok so the DA is pretty much done. gotta make the DP tomorrow and try to figure out why its throwing a TDC code, but it rips. real vids to come soon.
This was a ghetto/budget build. Decided to take on a winter project.
My very first turbo setup, it did 90% on my own. All used parts, new shit is over rated.
Thanks to all the help i got from HMT guys and g2ic.com turbo guide.

Looking good. Im impressed you didnt have to butcher your bumper to fit the intercooler, and you kept your stock radiator. DSM blue tops are 450’s by the way. Oh and also crank the boost up, if you think 7psi is fun try 14psi.
Im running 15psi on a gm-4 turbo. stock as rock b18a, I havnt blown it up yet. I swear people are afraid to experiment with boost, they just hear from people on fourms that 7-8psi on like a .60/.63 is the limit of a stock block LS when really it not uncommon for a stock LS to be fine in the 300’s. Its all in the tuning.
its all on the tuning…thats true. But it pretty much depends on how much power your making at X amount on boost. For example if the stock internals on a LS are good up to say?..350whp and your running 15psi making 300 then yeah your fine. boost doesnt matter its all about how much power yout making. And also boost doesnt blow motors up. How much power your pushing out of the motor is what wears down the life of a stock block.
clean that oil off the block and keep boostin. welcome to the club.
Did you have any fitment problems with the stock radiator? Also what type of fans are you use’n? Plan’n on boost’n real soon and just trying to figure out what to do with my cool’n situation.
Nice work! I was surprised to see the factory rad still in there! Sounds good too! Should have done a full-car walk-around in the vid so we could hear that exhaust burbble.
So how much $$ did you put down on the entire build?
I agree with RedHeadPyr0. Your turbo now…you done it now its time to clean your room. wire loom, can spray paint, hide some of those wires, purple power/ engine degreaser and wire loom.
Then you will be able to pop your hood at a local hang out spot.
Coil overs seem good so far. They are super stiff. Im using KYB Struts not stock.
And the clutch is nice so far, i am still breaking it in, so no launches or anythign crazy yet. I will have time to clean up soon, now that i have to get a new turbo this week.
Damn read about your turbo fucking up on you. That sucks. Well rebuild and be sure its gonna last. Well let me know bout that clutch once you start really abusing it. About how its holds up.
you listed a $50 tial wg for a mod. but the one your running is not a tial. not trying to be a jerk i just want you to know so that ur not getting screwed outta a good WG. i also had ran an F1 on a b17 with a 75 shot of nos and it blew up about a month after installing it. machining the flywheel aswell so it was not install error. it was a 6 puck though and was ok for the first 2 weeks. let us know how it is and if u run into the same problem
