i got a blox manifold and let a shop do a tight squeeze downpipe
I have a DRAG Kit and I have A/C and Power Steering…
I am very pleased with the kit.
Redline, do you have any closeups of how you ran the piping to the IC? I’m trying to keep all my accessories too and just looking for ideas on how to run the piping.
:search:
^did somebody say something or am I hearing things? Sorta sounded like a big asshole expelling something useless…
Sorry for the late reply…I will E-Mail you some pics…Oops, I just saw that you have no E-Mail address posted…If anything E-Mail me and I can try my best to help you out with detailed pics…Here is one over view…Old but ok…
Some things have changed since this pic. I have finally relocated my battery so the filter is now in the battery’s place…
^^^Question…The piping on the Drag kit goes up, and makes a 90* bend above the intercooler to go back to the passanger side right? How did that pipe clear the bumper support? I just can’t figure out how to mount the intercooler and make a 90, then go back across the top of the intercooler. Thanks,
Chris
It was a mission. The shop guys had to cutt the entire center of the bumper support. All I have now are the sides were the signal lights have that support on the bumper itself. And those are the corners that actually hold the bumper up to the frame. Makes me more cautious while driving since I no longer have anything there to protect the front end…Sacrifises that have to be made in order to have what you want.
Thanks for clearing that up. How well did the bumper (the part that goes in between the headlights) clear that pipe? I was wondering if we would have issues with the bumper hitting that top pipe. Thanks,
Chris
Oh that part of the bumper is pretty far from the pipe. I did have to tie strapp that part up because with out the Bumper Support Beam there the plastic tends to droop down a bit. All is going good. A/C will be going back in this week. While at the dyno back in November, the A/C line was rubbin against the Wastegate down tube and it melted the A/C line. So now I am going to put it all back in the correct way…With Heat Shield. Can’t be in Florida with out A/C, especially on the many rainy days that are soon coming threw…
Redline…What size was the down pipe drag supplied you?
Well, I just found out the other day that it is a freekin 2" or possibly 2.5". I thought it was a 3". I will have to upgrade…Just another addon to the already freekin long to do list…LOL
lol that list never ends as long as you own a car that is modified.
Tell me about it…I just hit a freekin ManHole Cover like a week ago. Almost $500. later I am still trying hard to get her back to normal. There go’s any plans for that list for a while…Tomorrow I am going to get the Manifold Gasket fixed. A bolt came off when I hit the Manhole Cover. Among other things…Then Alignment will be nessisary since the CrossMember had to be replaced. :wahmb: …All will be good again soon. More upgrades soon too.
ralph, you should get your valve cover color matched to your car. would look dope
:iagree: I/C pipes too
Hey Ralph thanks for the pictures. It’s about time I was able to get a good look at some decent pictures. Search, search search is all everyone will tell me. Sorry about the email address. I’ll add it to my profile. That’s a sick setup you have there.
:ot:
BTW, give it some thought, but a bunch of guys in the 4 door thread are rooting for you to stick around (my self included). Who gives a flying piss what darkdb1 thinks.
I’m not sure if Ralfy’s AC really works… though all the parts might be under the hood. It takes a lot of effort and custom work to retain the AC and PS and have them work.
A 3" down pipe is unnecessary for your application…2" is just fine for about 230± whp and 2.5" will take you up to 300+whp.
