Ok guys just wanting some advice on the build that i am pursuing. It is a GSR with type r pistons and cams. Now i am running a b16 cable trans with a stage 3, 4 puck unsprung clutch. I also put in a walbro 255 fuel pump. Also running a skunk 2 pro intake manifold. Now the question is i am wanting to boost this car as is i think the cp ratio is 10.6:1, if i am incorrect someone please correct me. Now what psi could i safely run on a great tune?? I will be running 93 octane. I would like to break into the 11’s if at all possible so what kinda hp numbers am i looking at… also what turbo would be good to run. I also have a set of fic 750’s and dsm 450’s…which ones will be suitable for what i am going for??? any info on this would be great!!! TIA
What is your power goal?
as i said in the first post i am wanting to break into the 11’s if at all possible…and i was wanting to know what numbers i need to do so???
What’s the weight of your car?
Which gearbox are you using?
the car is 1993 integra rs with me and a full tank of gas it ways 2700 lbs.
And as stated in the first post im using a b16 cable trans…
What db2 is doing is trying to get as much info to help with your questions. Its not all about the time you wish to run. You have to calculate almost every aspect that is involved with your car. You cannot just say, “I want to run 11s” and expect someone to give you the exact set up as theirs.
Suspension, tires and weight also come with this. Someone can tell you to build a 450hp motor at xyz amount of boost, and you end up not achieving 11 second time slips cause your suspension has e-bay struts and you have a 200lb speaker box in the back.
Driving is another factor, and hell, you did not mention if you want to run 11s in the 1/4 or 11s in the 1/8th. Is your car going to be daily driven, are you gutting out your car, why a full tank of gas on the track (thats more weight, and dangerous at that)?
Give us more info to help you. You can help us by answering the question, what is YOUR reasonable HP goal? I know for a fact that those DSM 450s are not gonna get you in 11s (and if I’m not mistaken, those are 440s). And definitly, dont go to a ‘great tuner’ and expect him to know this answer, cause he will tell you the same thing I’m telling you, and then some.
HOW DEEP ARE YOUR POCKETS??? I can assure you this question has been asked time and time again, and it’s all on what your budget is. you can have XX amount of horsepower and still not run 11’s. so 11’s is not my concern. you want to run 11’s, gut a CRX and put your engine in there because to be honest, you have the wrong chassis if all you want to do is run 11’s.
BigJimSlay, thanks.
i would have mentioned the suspension but it is a prototype suspension…it is fully adjustable coilovers and 8 way dampening(very stiff) The reason i said it weighs 2700lbs with me and a full tank is because thats the only time i had weighed it…also this is going to be a daily driven car…when its running at the track its going to be running on 15inch bf goodrich drag radials…and in the 1/4 mile i said i wanted to run 11’s if at all POSSIBLE (if this is not feasible please tell me) with the stock gsr with type r pistons and cams…as far as the budget goes im not wanting to skimp out on ne thing and i also dont want to go crazy…I have already owned a crx before and i wanted to change it up…and IMO i think the DA’s look better!!
so basically what i am asking is what is reasonable hp number to shoot for that i would need to even think of getting into the 11’s???
Hope this helps…

The good:
Fresh rebuild 3000 miles ago
Simple facts:
LS/ VTEC
Golden Eagle Sleeves (84mm/2.0liter)
Endyn Pistons (9:5:1)
Eagle rods
Arp fasteners throughout
stock LS crank
1st gen b16 head
ITR springs and retainers
B16 cams
B16 transmission that is BUTTER in every gear with no pop outs or grinds
Rc 750cc injectors
Wiring is untouched in the car except for injectors and map (GM 3 bar)
Recent compression check shows perfect compression through out all cylinders. (185psi)
Inline pro turbo kit
*****-Car make 380whp and 270tq on 15psi of boost maxing injectors out
Car is fully tuned on Hondata S300
With proper wastegate and injectors the car is every bit capable of 600+ whp which is what i want to do with it, but dont have the money to finish
I have been to the 1/4 mile track once. The results :
The car has been the best quarter mile time of 11.6 @124mph with a 1.75 60 ft on 24.5x8.5x15 M&H slicks on a stock ITR wheels (6.5inches)
I have been to the 1/8th mile track once.
Best 1/8th mile ET to date 7.43 @ 93 mph with a 1.65 60ft on same setup (.2 of second faster than the 8th mile time on the 11.6 pass)
With some more driving time the car could possibly see 11.0’s, as it went 11.6@124 my first pass ever with the car, and my first time driving on slicks."
aim for the 400whp range and you’ll be in your 11’s most likely with drag slicks. right now im at 300whp and on street tires im running 13.0 at 115-118mph. on slicks thats good for a low 12 pass but i dont know i havnt tried on drag slicks last year. so theres no doubt ill be in the 11’s this year with my 400+ whp setup and slicks.
thanks for the info guys i think im going to shoot for 350 hp range being that motor is not built…
now does any one know what kinda boost a 10.6:1 gsr can hold psi wise???
your going to have to change your intake manifold to a edlebrock vector X intake mani, look it up and youll see its bore is wider and smoother perfect fo ra turbo setup than the skunk 2. besides the runners on the vector x are shorter and the skunk2 intake have longer runners to speed the intake velocity. with a turbo set up you dont need them long at all and a N/A set up does. just my .02

Its not the psi you need to worry about so much as just the whp amount, so don’t worry about going over any specific number.
If you’re going for 350ish on a GSR i would suggest a t3/t4 50trim with your 750 injectors and at least a 2.5’’ downpipe and exhaust if not a full 3’’.
Make sure to get it professionally tuned using a chipped ecu (crome, etc) or on a full standalone. You want to avoid safc tuning as its rather inaccurate and with a CR as high as yours the tune needs to be dead-on to avoid detonation.
im running a jdm b18c and I am tuned at 8 psi, putting out 315hp 210tq, stock motor…
Half-twisted, you have your idea “half twisted” lol lol lol J/K. had to get ya, but just to let you know for a daily street setup with 350whp, the victor X is USELESS!!! the gains he would have up top would not suffice the losses down low. and a B18C already has lost alot there, so Highboost, stick with your skunk2 manifold.
thanks guys…also im going to be tuning with crome and taking it to slowmotion to be tuned when i get it all put together
dat1.7gsr those are nice numbers what tranny are you running??
