boosting in 5th gear

nevermind

why post something like that? why not hit the back button or click on a link somewhere… use some common sense

:stfu: wow douchie it was edited OBVIOUSLY there was some more text like information there at an earlier point in time.

stupid fucking canadian, unlike your dumbass, instead of posting and letting others answer a question that was already answered, i found the answer and did the best i could to make the thread useless so no one would get confused, but i guess i confused your dumbass anyways

:gay: :jerkoff: did you ever though that being a canadian is always better than being a stupid jerk who tries to insult someone that comes from a contry you dont know and probably never went?

im not calling him stupid because hes canadian, i just said that because he is, i would have said something similar if he were mexican, african, black white purple cracker and so on, i got nothing against canadians thank you, in fact some of my best friends are from canada, and they have good beer damnit!

I love the net

if its that important my question was in regards to doing a 5th gear pull in a boosted car, i had heard it wasnt a good idea because of the forces exerted by the motor and increased egts and cooling temperatures, with research i found this to be somewhat true, its safe to drive normal in 5th gear, but you dont want to go mashing the pedal all the way down for the 10-15 seconds it takes to get through 5th gear because of these factors

all of the boosted cars I have tuned run to rev limiter in 5th every satuday & sunday. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. this was a common misconception when proper tunning wasn’t available.

interesting

yeah, it seems the general concensous is with a good tune an moderation the 5th gear pull is fine, it isnt recommended back to back to back, but even at a track that really isnt possible because you must wait in line to go again anyways, so as long as you got a good tune everything is fine
