pretty dope DA i stumbled upon on the internet. I really like how the front and rear bumpers are painted to match car and the side molding are left black. think i might do this to the teg.
I believe that DA has a build thread on Stance/Works under the name of Bananarama or something similar. Shame the build thread kind of died after he smashed out enough oil pans.
Well not much going on, just had my CV boot rip apart so decided it would be better to replace the driver side axle, so got a brand new one installed. The other day i was on the highway, looked down for a second and a construction cone was right in the middle of the road and cracked my turn signal, either way was going to order the amber one’s so i guess it’s not that big of deal. My bushings are all here, just waiting on next week’s check to get them install and alignment. Anyways here’s some random pic’s i took.
was browsing through craigslist and found a local seller, selling a NRG quick release, lock, and momo wheel. didn’t have a price but said needed it sold asap. contacted him and got everything for 100 bucks. i was hyped lol. everything worked perfect, i already had the hub for the DA so it was just a simple install. 2 little things worry me though, don’t know if the momo wheel is legit, feels legit and not cheap but not 100% sure. also now i need to figure out how to wire up the horn cause in South FL the people drive like shit lol. also got my amber lenses put on. order a timing belt, pulley, and water pump as i want to get that done when i do all the bushings.
On my NRG hub to get the horn working I gutted an old plastic flashlight that I had laying around. I took the metal strip and bent it at 90 degrees so the peak would touch the back of the contactor ring. Then I soldered a spade connector onto the horn wire and slid the metal strip into the connector and put some good heavy heat shrink over it. Then I just drilled through the strip where it intercepted a thread hole on top of the steering column to keep it in place. It has worked for a couple years for me until recently when the horn doesn’t work while the wheel is straight ahead.
Sup guys it’s been awhile lol. well plans are still on track just not always in the same order, but yeah have all my bushings just sitting haven’t got around to getting them installed. Recently just did the timing, water pump, and belt. After that had some problems with my car not starting so i figured the battery was dead. Got that replaced and it was fine for a bit, but then noticed at night my lights would dim and brighten when i gave it gas. Alternator was shot. SO finally after replacing that i was set. Also replaced my front tires. My next big thing that i want to get done soon is my clutch. Im still on my stock clutch :tsk: lol so im going to order the Exedy OEM replacement and surface the flywheel. Ordered a NRG short hub because the hub i have sticks out too much and the steering wheel is too close to me. Also hit a local car show recently. I added some pics.
sup guys it’s been awhile since i’ve been on here. still own the DA.only a few small things done to it. bushings all done lowered it more and got some cheap offset wheels for now until i see something clean worth the money for sale. Also have BWR Lca’s to install. I’ve kinda hit a cross road in a sense where one side of me thinks sell it, don’t invest anymore money into it’s old, no air bags blah blah. Then the other side of me say’s damn it’s clean, everything works, and the re sell value isn’t what it’s worth to me or any DA owner. and plus simple maintenance is so cheap. i guess time will tell, i really just need to sit and think about it. but if i do keep it 2016 first thing will consist on a swap. here’s some pics of how she sits atm.
