I’m looking for an oem shift linkage for my 90 integra gs. I’m mainly looking for the linkage bar that attaches to the transmission ( the one with the u-joint ). Part #54201-sk7-901 . As with most oem parts for our cars, it has been discontinued. Innovative replacement doesn’t fit properly.
I couldn’t find the linkage in my garage today. Please give me another day to look. I hope that I did not throw it away. I bought a transmission from a you pull it salvage yard and I could not get the pin out so I brought it home and then got the pin out.
It must have gotten thrown away durring the last garage clean out. I apologize for wasting your time. I usually check parts on delray acuras web site to see if they are discontinued before tossing it. I never toss discontinued parts, guess I dropped th ball on this one.
Is it the exact same part or is it slightly different? I’d prefer buying a new linkage if its an exact replacement. To be more specific, of the 2 rods(linkages)…I just need the one that has the u-joint that connects to the transmission. Its listed as (rod, change). Looking at the diagram of the 1994 integra ls rod…It looks like the shape of the 94 rod is the same as the 90 rod, but the ends are different. Will the 94 (change, rod) connect to my 90 (change, extension)? I have no problem paying for a new linkage, I just don’t want buy it and then find out the hard way that it won’t work. Your help is greatly appreciated.
I’m also using a DC2 linkage and shifter in my car. I know the whole unit can be swapped in with no mods - in my experience the shifter does not sit closer to me, I did not think the linkages were a different length. I do know that the shifters are different and that will place the shift knob in a different location. If you’re trying to use the DC2 linkage with the DA shifter you will need to do some modifying to get it to fit but it shouldn’t be much work. Basically the bottom of the newer shifter is wider so the part of the linkage where it mounts is also wider to accommodate that.
The pictures of the dc2 linkage looks identical to the aftermarket linkage from innovative that I purchased…but it just didn’t seem to install correctly. 2 problems that I ran into were #1- the second bar (change extension) seemed to be too long as it didn’t line up center in the hole where the shifter feeds through the console. #2- the shifter was then angled too forward by almost 45 degrees. 1st gear was about an inch further forward than the original position. 2nd gear was completely upright ( where neutral should be). Is that how the dc2 linkage setup?
Yeah, that’s basically how my shifter sits now. 1st is very far forward, 2nd is pretty much straight up. The linkage you got from Innovative, were you using your original shifter or did it come with a different shifter? The DC2 shifter is a dual bend design which basically means regardless of the linkage it will sit angled further forward compared to the original shifter.
I have a TWM dual bend short shifter. I didn’t like how far forward the innovative setup was and I also didn’t like the fact that the shifter wasn’t centered correctly ( I know it probably would have been fine, but I like everything fitting clean) and that bothered me. I think I’m just going to stick with the oem linkage. Thanks for your input…you made my decision easier. Greatly appreciated!
