i have a 93 ls-s and i wanted to see what the best cam timing is to run with this setup I/H/E, test pipe and a 55 zex kit, as of right now, my cam timing is set 2 degrees advanced on the exhaust side, zero on the intake side and my ignition timing is set 4 degress retarted. my best time to date is a 14.8 at 94 mph with a 2.3 60 foot time… tryin to get the most out of it, all help and opinions would be greatly app…
You’re on the right track. Advancing the exhaust cam a degree or two is all you can do. Zex and Nos reps are my source.

No, you retard ignition timing.
yeah i know that your suppose to retard your IGNITION timing but you said to advance the EXHAUST CAM timing in a prev. post.

Yes, a couple zex reps have told me this is the only way they have found any gains from cam gears while using nitrous is advancing the exhaust cam and they said they were minimal. I would just set it up so that it gives you the maximum benefit off the bottle.
Thanks guy, yea i heard the same about the advancing exhasut timing, i can feel a little bit of difference… i was tuning it without the bottle, soo when i ran it after these settings im stayin consistent on my times, my freind with a 91 civic 4dr, same exact setup, ls motor with zex 65 shot, ran a 13.7, soo i was pretty positive his car being a 4dr and all, i should at least be shooting some low 14’s if not better… i know not every motor does the same, but our dyno sheets show my car threw out about 7 more hp then his, and about 6 more lbs of tq… soo im jus tryin to see what else i can do to make my times better…
