Okay so i got a 90 integra ls 5spd and i just put in turbocharger and installed some dsm 450’s blue tops I’ve started the car before and it ran okay but it seemed like there was fuel cut at 4k rpms. Also, after i bought a few more things for the car, i tried to start it up one day and as it idel’d it would bog then too. My main thought was that my fuel pump was going but the other day i put the key in and turned it to listen to the fuel pump and i could hear it buzz so i thought it couldnt be the fuel pump or fuel relay…
the other problems that it could be is the fuel filter or fuel injectors.
My question is what other things could be the problem(from experience) and what order should i go about checking to see if they are faulty?
well at first there was the fuel cut at 4k rpms, but now when the car idels it bogs like its running out of fuel.
well i can hear the fuel pump buzz, so should that be an indication that the fuel relay is okay or is the main relay totally diff.?
i never even checked the pcv valve btw. umm im not really a wizz with this mechanic stuff. could you let me know what the pcv valve does and how it could affect an engine? thanks
edit: never mind i just looked up what the pcv is/does
you are all missing the big picture. he’s running a stock fuel setup right? with a stock fuel pump, correct? if so, ur tired stock fuel pump is not able to build or hold enough pressure. simple fact ur running out of pressure and flow rate around 4000rpm due to ur stock fuel pump being way under rated to flow as much as ur injectors need it to. i would NOT go out replacing parts without knowing properly whats going wrong. personally i think ur fueling setup for your turbo’d car is way under built. time to get a fuel pressure guage (so u can see whats happening), fuel regulator (when u switch to a much needed walbro 255, u will need to adjust base fuel pressure), and a walbro 255 fuel pump (which will provide a steady, high flow rate)
only thing that comes to my head is TUNE!!! unless it is tuned, but thats not specified in the description. If your running 450’s on a stock tune, or even being boosted on a stock tune is nothing but trouble.
Turns out that the i was using a version for turboedit (ng48) and i read that those sometimes crapped out SOOO i took the fuel and ignition tables from that and put them into the ng60 or ng55 code and voila! runs great! pulls harder than i thought.
