Posted that on a couple FB groups earlier…
One of the first batch from JDP I’d assume.
Being that Slasher is from TX… The eBay sell is in TX… Would make sense.

You got it!! Was it the “lol” or my way of pausing in text?
Also, Jon I’m in no rush but curious if the first batch went out yet; would like to see some pics in order to compare what slasher is selling because a few of us were debating how it looks like JDP took out the angle/sag when viewed directly from the rear. Some people said it was from deterioration while others said JDP had “fixed” or “flattened” it out but I’m just curious lol. Anyone else have input in that area?

Yes, appears to be slasher selling some of the originals. I was watching the auction…I know there was some speculation that prices would go down for all wings…I’m not sure about that as it sold for $550 shipped.
Update from JDP - “Currently a batch of three are out of the mold and are being prepped for clear coat. I’ll send some pictures over end of this week.”
yea its always funny to put clues together to match usernames with real names. someone should make a list of who is who… I get confused sometimes and wonder who the hell im talking to…
and thanks for the update jdecks!
Was there an update on the mounting situation or is that up to us?
i beleive Colin can answer that.
Nothing specific. One question worth asking right now… what is the most important thing you guys want in a bracket? Is everyone just looking for something that will work but is as cheap as possible? Are there people who want something really high quality that is finished well and looks really nice? Depending on the material and if people are willing to pay for it we could look into plating, powder coating or anodizing. Some of those services aren’t cheap though, so I wouldn’t be surprised if many would not wish to pay the extra $.
Also, everyone should feel free to email me directly should have have any questions or comments which aren’t worth bogging down this thread with. My email address is located in my user profile.

there are some things i didnt like about the previous hardware. it would mess up my paint from the bottom of the trunk.
i can get some photos to share with you of the brackets ive used and of that issue i said.
Carlos, yes, please feel free to pass along any additional info you have as well as your concerns. I’m almost positive I’ve seen pics of the hardware you’re using. I’ve seen the ones that were created for the last run of JDP wings, the ones made when Pat had the Pancake wings made, as well as the ones I was told were original Hiro brackets. With that said I have since been told that the Mugen and Hiro ones were the same bracket but the ones for the Mugen wing that my friend has are NOT the same as the ones I was told were original to the Hiro.
Personally my viewpoint is that I want the best performing and best looking thing possible. If it can also be a replica of the original Hiro, then that is a plus, but if there’s a design that is better then I don’t think we need to copy the original simply for authenticity.
I have not personally used this bracket style to mount a wing so I’m not sure about damage that could result from the brackets. However, after first seeing the bracket designs my initial thought was: “how does this NOT cause any damage?” Obviously you don’t drill holes, but I still worried that it could scratch, mar, or chip the paint or even dent the deck lid. So I’m definitely interested in what you have to say regarding this issue.
Feel free to email me directly if this conversation is better had via email.

i shall email you later today with some awesome pictures and info of this matter.
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Nice to see this thread heading in the right direction.
I’m excited to see the outcome, actually.
Before we get too crazy about quality of brackets please keep in mind the very rough ones that were made for the last batch of spoilers were in the $40-$50 range if I remember correctly. Something “show quality” would likely be double that price or even more if we did something like anodizing or zinc plating, and I’m assuming most are not going to want to pay that much. We’ll cross that bridge when we get there, it’s pure speculation at the moment so I don’t want anyone thinking we’ll be able to keep the price similar to the last batch but have them be much much better pieces.
I have no problem paying for the brackets
Am imtoo late to this party?
Id take one :burnout:
