That would be badass. This is carbon though sorry.
only 2 more names… but then they have to follow through with the deposit… thats probably going to be the biggest hold up.
If you figure out the mounting hardware were I don’t drill any holes then I think I might get one can not say for sure till that is taken care of
is it really that big of a deal?
=\
I already answered this question at least once in this thread.
Hey Colin, as for that “group buy” I mentioned above I stated it as “that no one remembers” simply for the fact that he didn’t sell all of them but indeed he did go through with making them with his uncle. It was just a few months back where I emailed him and he said he had about 5 left, and some kid (on the list to buy a cf wing^^) bought the remaining wings and sold them off for big profit as he got them for cheap on facebook. So yes it’s proven the group buy long time ago did happened. The good thing is, even though they might look very similar to Pancake wings, the group buy used a different kind of fiberglass texture where as it can be identified if it is a Pancake or not. So that’s good. Seeing as Pancake versions are very rare to come by now, I wouldn’t want to see people making replicas and passing them off as “Pancake versions” whereas the value is higher than other replicas out right now. But sooner or later, someone is going to make another mold, and when we bring up this matter again about rarity, they will say “Another 10-20 replicas isn’t going to hurt” and ofcourse I will be the first to comment LIKE THIS>> LOL
So I hope Jdp doesn’t make another “limited run” of the wings. This is just my thoughts on it, as I am very familiar with mostly everything that has to do with the subject of HIRO WINGS.
When JDP made the first batch of wings, yes they did include the hardware. It was made by “Bryan24207” I believe. I every now and then i talked to him to buy a set of mounting hardware for my pancake wings. They are like “clamps” which clamp the wing and trunk together. It wouldn’t make sense to make the wing only to work with your original holes on the trunk because some 2nd gens don’t come with spoilers. As for the price of the hardware, I got mine from them for 45ish$ shipped. So I HIGHLY DOUBT you will get them for 10-20$. They are great mounting clips so you wont be let down. Just a little info to help you guys out since I see some of you guys are going crazy over the discussion whether or not it will come with hardware. As you guys no i am not happy about this group buy, but i am a proud g2ic member and when help is needed, i appear to help! if you guys like, i can give you the number of the guy who made the brackets, maybe you guys can make a deal with him or something. lmk
I feel bad for the guys who have paid the price to have the real deal or be part of a rarity, even the rarity of the first run…now another batch is on the way. Before long they will be replicas all over the place.
Its like Track R’s with Sprint Hart stickers on em. Kinda makes owning the real deal less desirable. thats just my .02
I agree with you guys. In my honest opinion I believe out of all the MANY HIRO REP wings that are out, one of them will be in the hands of a kid who will be tempted [by friends] to make a mold and replicate them. When I got my first pancake wing, I had tons of people message me if I was willing to make a deal with them and replicate the wing. The same goes with my US Racing lip. These both are very hard to come by and it would suck to see more wings being made in a garage of some kid. I know theres no way to stop JDP from making more wings, but DANG guys, how many more “limited runs” are they going to make. Sooner or later these wings are going to be on every FAN BOY integra out there.
May that Pancake wing Rest In Peace lol you took one for the team to get them replicated by JDP.
Gotcha. I read thru that post some more and I think I get what happened now. Also the 1st run of JDP replicas never all made it to market either, but since you’re the self proclaimed Hiro-pro I’m sure you know that already. Not sure what the total number is but I think 3-5 were never sold. And of the remaining ones which were sold I’ve still never seen one on anyone’s car - not in person and not in photos on the internet. But maybe I’ve seen one and its just been painted, I can’t be certain. Seems the only ones I actually ever see are the real Hiro’s and the Pancake reps.

Yes, you are correct about that info. Unfortunately Bryan’s hardware wasn’t a replica of the original. I haven’t used both versions to fit a wing on an actual car so maybe his are actually better. But based on the photos I’ve seen the fit/finish of his hardware was very lacking compared to the hardware that came with the Pancake wings (which were exact copies of the original Hiro hardware).

the best way to regulate this, i think, is to jack the price up so high that the only people that can afford it are the people that want it bad enough. i can save 600+ for the sole purpose of shopping for a potential real hiro… WOULD i buy one for 600+? hell no. spending that kind of money on something like this isnt even an option to me. i cant rationalize it. on the other hand, to someone else saving up 600+ for this exact purpose may see things differently. this replica thing is getting a little out of hand… =\

Im not too certain how many of the jdp 1st batch wings never sold but after they made them no one really posted pictures of it wich made it seem like it never went through but every now and then on facebook, instagram and other forums i see those carbon fiber jdp wings pop up.
As for the mounting hardware, i had a hard time mounting the pancake wings with the hardware i got, but using the cf jdp hardware it made it way easier. So just to give u guys some info, the mounting hardware that were made for the cf 1st batch wings were better then the ones made for the pancake wings.
not sure about you guys. but I live in Canada… and I know there’s only one original Hiro wing here, not sure on the # of reps… a guy who owns Black Integra XSi down here in Abbotsford. B.C has one…
So… I wouldn’t mind having another one up here north.
and if I ever have to sell it… no way its going for cheap… So last thing you have to worry about is a price dip

yea your right, my friend MIKE VANG owns that one. along with other GREAT stuff. as far as replicas in canada, from pancakes to cf reps i know of 4 in canada.
Thanks for that info, I wanted to get some opinions on that. I’ve been talking with Jon and if this deal goes thru it looks like I will be helping him with having the hardware made since I’m local to JDP. The original hardware I think looks better but maybe it’s just me not being able to look past the rough finish on the ones Bryan had made. Regardless of how well they work, they look homemade to me whereas the ones Pat had made for the Pancake wings look professional. If the style he used is better then I may use that style but try to get the finish better.
yup no problem. I have pictures of both hardware so if your going to be in charge feel free to email me and i will show you pictures of the mounts.
Hey Derek Sloth Man W. THANK YOU!! Lol, I’ll be the 9th name on the list hopefully, I’ll have the deposit in like a week. Oh it’s Orion btw lol
Word, thanks man. I actually already have a handful of pics but more never hurts
Take that back, got ahead of myself and thought the deposit would be more than what it is… I’ll have that by Friday xD
Yeah definitely add my name to that list please XD
wow only one spot is left :run:
Ok guys, the list is full. I have some people on a reserve list in case people flake out. I’m not going to wait around for any flakes, non payments or trouble communicating. I will reach out should a spot open. For those on the list, please reread the thread to see the details on lead times etc and please be patient. I will contact everyone via email about the deposits etc.
Colin has generously agreed to help assist with the Hardware situation. As updates are available on hardware we will let people know. Currently, I need to wait for JDP to get back to me to confirm a few things before we move forward.
One condition of those who are purchasing a wing is to agree not to reproduce, duplicate or copy the wing in any way.

Sounds good, and can meet those conditions even if it needs to be in writing lol.
