Carbon Fiber Hiro Rep Spoilers made by JDP - Group Buy

FYI it was significantly more than this for the last batch that was made. Don’t quote me as if I know what the price will be this time because Jon (or someone) will need to figure that out. But for the last set of JDP wings that were sold the hardware was roundabouts double the high end of the range you posted. Common sense leads me to believe it would probably be similar this time around if the person who makes them (or has them made) uses the same construction style, materials…etc

I hope the hardware would be stainless steel  but I’m All in either way . Mr colin and Mr jdeck

I may have to custom fab something out of aluminum…

I would love to get down on thus but money’s tight right now.

Is this member sn Slasher something ???

Edit after reading this thread. Dejavu. Totaly reminds me of the thread he started about this same thing

Good luck with it Jon. From what I remember he took a lot of grief on here over it.

yea… some people may be left a little bit sour because prices may dip

Glynn, this may take a while to get moving so you probably have time to get in…and yes we already have Wing Drama ha.

I honestly don’t think the introduction of a replica necessarily devalues an original, especially in this case. There are certain parts that it would but an original hiro is so impossible to come by that anyone seriously interested in purchasing one would probably still be willing to pay top dollar for one. I guess I could see it slightly devaluing a pancake since its already a replica but not so much that I think any current owners should be worried.

Look at a genuine mugen valve cover or bumper cover, they haven’t lost their value due to replicas being available. Rota makes fake wheels but authentic spoons/regas are still worth what they were before.

I think the bigger issue at hand than value is individuality. People that have the original part like it, at least in part, due to the fact that its an uncommon thing to see. So I do understand why people don’t want replicas growing more and more abundant. Just be glad they are being produced by a quality company like jdp instead of being banged out by the thousands in a sweatshop in China or Taiwan and being sold on ebay for $50.

i have there flush mount spoiler i should have waited and got this one dear lord how bad do i want it!!

Count me in for a wing and hardware…! Sexy as hell in carbon
Thanks for reminding me, I wanted to inquire about this as well. Will these include the mounting hardware?

Dillon, the original Hiro does not use double stick tape, it uses a clamp style hardware which clamps the wing to the deck of the hatch. Seems to work just fine, even on actual race cars. Personally I would prefer this over studs because studs require drilling holes and with the clamp style hardware you can easily remove the wing and go back to wingless anytime you like without leaving any holes.
Oh alright, wasn’t sure if it was a 100% replica down to mounting as well. Thanks for clearing that up, Colin.

Put me down for one

hmmm if there is any open spots in a few days, ill probably be in for one as well. now to just buy another DA to be able to put it on.

Interesting indeed…

I contacted JDP last year and asked if they would sell me a single wing… they said that their deal was solely for the 10 wing production and that I would have to contact the seller (Slasher or whomever) to get a wing or to purchase the mold… Now there is another group buy??

Money-hungry bastards lol.

Exactly you guys need to stop worrying about rareness and value. There are a ton of Fake Mugen DC2 wings all over the internet but the real wings still sale for a grand. It will be the same way with the JDP wings!

I feel bad for the guys who have paid the price to have the real deal or be part of a rarity, even the rarity of the first run…now another batch is on the way. Before long they will be replicas all over the place.

Its like Track R’s with Sprint Hart stickers on em. Kinda makes owning the real deal less desirable. thats just my .02

I look at it differently…I don’t put parts on my car to impress other people or because they’re very rare. I choose my parts based on function, price and form. If I had a real Mugen MF10L’s on my car I wouldn’t care if someone else had replicas. It doesn’t change the fact that I have real deal.

I’m glad theres a company that will still make parts for the DA chassis…

If I can get it in kevlar I’m in.

To both of these points - I DO have Sprint Hart CP-R’s and I see Rota’s with stickers…I don’t feel bad at all for paying full price and it also does not make them any less desirable…I have the real thing and the other guy doesn’t.

you know thats what i was thinking too that would be kinda of cool too.
