Carlitos' SoCo build thread

This is my build thread. There are many like it but this one is mine.

Anyways, decided to update this first post with the mods and goals.

The car:

Is a old 1992 Integra GS-R. I got her bone stock in 2007 and got her in nice daily driveable condition with 206k miles on the clock. In 2008 I dropped her via Tokico Blues and Tein S techs, installed an IHC clutch and flywheel, did some maintanance and enjoyed her to 216k miles. In early 2010 I decided to take the car apart and go through it piece by piece, but by no means a complete rebuild.

So I have alot planned for it. My life will be changing dramatically after this semester one way or the other so I just want to enjoy it before I commit to a 4 year plan (military or univerity or bust).

I’ll go snap some pics of how it sits currently, and what she was before she went down if anyone is interested.

I am very interested in feedback an ideas.

Before the car went down…

Yucky I know

you got catch can in there twice;)

Go for BUST  and let the good times commence:)

let us know when we can carpool down there and give you a hand  when things warm up of course.

Lol thanks you guys are awesome!

I am heading down tomorrow, did you still need that navy rear hatch piece? And Agazzi did you still want the sunroof assembly? DOes anyone need anything? My free parts of course

Pics will be up tonight on where the car sits. I think I am going to ditch the PCV system, budget is tightening and I am wanting to tear down the hi comp LS. WHich will set me back a hone, rings, and bearing unless I can reuse them. Which I seriously doubt. But I do have a new GSR oil pump, new itr water pump. Going to be ordering the tensioner and t belt when we go through it and make a list.

Ya I do still need that rear navy piece  haha Also I got Still got Glynns brand new GSR Timing Belt and New GSR water pump he might sell you for cheap that we didnt end up using on my lil bro’s LS.

Well if you need it please don’t sacrifice it for me! I have a brand new honda pr3 belt but won’t need it for lsvtec…I should sell it to Agazzi for his build lololol.

Alright I have my camera in my pocket I’ll snap some pics o the car. I should have pics of the engine setup and built head tomorrow. Ima spend all this money N/A for mid 14’s what the hell am I doing? haha

^nah we dont need it! Building a realiable G2  rather have your car clean and simple with less problems rather then ghetto-rigged pieces on a junkyard turbo or ebay which you will throw your cash away on. Which is why most people that go that route end up selling or parting there car…Need the basics first just remember that! I planned on boosting my 150k mile LS then decided I need a newer fresh motor…Sure I could boost it but in about a year when its unhealthy Ill be tearing everything down to rebuild it or put in another engine again.DO it right or do it twice!

Dont forget exhaust!!! lol

Dude, we don’t have to wait for it to warm up. You should see the heater in that garage!

I still want that sunroof, for sure man! Did you come up with a time with Fraz? I’m gonna text him soon

I’m pretty sure I’ll take that belt yo

Hehe, I’m gona be boosting my 150k LS. With the right tuning/care maintence, there’s no reason it shouldn’t run for 30k+. There’s guys on Honda-tech running around on the same boosted set-up for years now. I even saw a claim of 50k out of the same motor/turbo set-up from a reputable poster! So it can be done. But I’m building the 17 I’ve got too, so I’m not too worried about this motor. Shooting for low low 12s with the LS at Bandi! High Plains will be just retarded on 14lbs :excite:

Not the way I drive LMAO HAHAHAHA

Lol. Trade a PR3 be’t for p73/2 (i forgot which one)?

So I went and snapped some pics…

Refinished the RsR

Rewired my alarm and set it to a new fob

Here is the old beast. When I went to take pics it was 34 degrees in the garage. An hour later it was 59.

The shitty current setup. Worn out blues, soft teins, and ebay camber kit. Good riddance

Shane the exhaust is ready to go. You will need the gasket that mates b pipe to catback and the hangers.

Robbie I feel you man I had a complete kit ready to go but decided against blowing the shit out of my b17 lol. I am trading the kit for a semi built b18a shortie, a built b16a shortie, and a fully built head. We get the joys of tearing those apart.

Agazzi I talked to the fraz and he wants to see how the roads will be tomorrow. Blizzard or not I will make it.

looking good. love the gs-r! ahh… i used to run those tien springs, nice drop, but they were horrible. :worry:

Subscribed

that looks like fun:)

Yea, he’s trying to say he doesn’t want to transport the motors in the snow? I say if he’s going to pull that card, lets mob the Wago up and see if he’ll cut $25 off the top for gas  Give me a call, and we’ll come up with a plan B

Yeah I was the one who raised that concern. He has an open bed pickup and the last thing I want is our heads and motors to get waterlogged.

Plan B…its the name of my COD community lol.

Otherwise I am down to mob!

My GAB strut bar. I want it back :bang::argh::sad:

BTW Carl, I always planned to do a little sanding to that bar remove all those little scratches and stuff, and paint it sort of a purple color with gold brackets but I was too lazy and did not have time with school and work. Good luck with the build man.

Lol Marco I have been looking for a gab for awhile I love the quirky og jdm (gulp) stuff! I do plan on polishing it. Thanks for the kind words.

No way man your build thread is awesome! I am probably going to run out of funds before I get half this shit done lol.

I hate when Robi drives my car. I always have to yell “shift… SHIFT!!!”
