so i got the “anonymously” donated ccf front lower tie bar and its like 100x nicer than the x brace, but the powdercoating still needs to be stripped and the welds cleaned up. fortunately none of them are bad enough that they must be redone. this is about as much progress as im having with the situation. i have spoken to my lawyer on a few occasions and he advised me not to mention any more about legal matters in the thread, so im gonna leave that topic alone for now.
g2ic, does anyone else have one of kyles front or rear lower tie bars? let me know…
some splatter is normal but not that much.
ive seen 110 mig welders lay down a nicer weld. sorry, but i grew up with a professional welder as a father.

d you’re my boy and i’ve been there and stuck by you through alot of crap man, so please listen when i say that you seriously need to have a sit down pow wow with your bro man (if you are reading this), cause stuff like this WILL come back to haunt him, be it later in life or in a court case. those that think it will just slide off need to brush up a little cause the case will see court. i’ve seen cased go for 150 before that turn ito 2k (as stated previously) and this can all be settled by either (a) a refund or (b) (and prob out of the question by now) a new bar. i’ll even throw in a (c) why dont you pay partial for him to get an EMR bar so two birds get killed-jake gets the bar he wanted (kinda) and you salvage whatever reputation you still have left.
lastly, mark i know you are trying to back a reputable member, and that is great but you are seriously taking it a bit far with instigating and some comments, for a minute i thought you had pom pom’s in your hand (not that that is a bad thing :inlove: ) try to stay civil, even if the other side MIGHT not be in return (i’m not there to mediate the whole convo’s so i can’t say alot about them).
i dont know kyle and i dont know jake, i do however know dustin very well, so i can’t much take a side on something that does not involve me. please please please just try to do what is right. jake, if it goes to court, so be it but i’d hope it can be solved before-hand.

i have no opinion in the matter, but all i want to say is all those pictures you guys are posting about other welds, ALL of those were TIG welds, kyle doesnt have a TIG welder, just a MIG. just clearing that up, i think it’s kinda messed to show pics of TIG welds and compair them to MIG welds.
i dont know either side of the story, nor do i care, im not backing anyone and i could care less what happens.
ROFLMAO this is great dude… let me tell you why… the pictures kyle showed me and everyone else of his welding ability were TIG welds!!! now thats messed up. selling people on your abilities with a welder that you dont even have. then when they get their products, expecting pretty TIG welds, they get ugly, soldered-looking, MIG welds… they are pissed, and ripped off. now thats messed up… next…
yea thats pretty fucked up that Kyle said it was TIG welded and it was actually MIG welded. Does he even know if there is a difference because there is…a big difference.
i think you misread what i said slightly, but you make a good point none the less. to clear things up, he didnt say it was TIG welded… while trying to get my business, he showed me pictures of his welds… all of them were TIG. it wasnt until after i received the finished product, paid for, did i find out that they were not. for $420 i thought i would be receiving a professional-looking, TIG-welded bar, which i did not. it would be like buying a car off ebay and them posting pictures of a clean, white car, and u end up getting a black primered beater on a trailer after you paid for it. then the guy tells you that you got what you paid for and to screw off. this is exactly what happened to me on this deal.

so you assumed he was going to tig weld it…thats you’re fault. anyways i do understand your complaint about it not fitting, that is vaild. if i were kyle i would offer to make you a new bar and spend a little more time on it at no cost to you, but i am not him. i do have to say NEITHER of you handled anything maturely. you calling his mom up, talking shit online to him, him and his brother talking shit back.
what you don’t realize is that at 16, kyle’s not legally responsible…so he refused to talk to jake. jake went to the first legally responsible party, which happened to be kyle’s mom, to try and work things out. let’s just say Cartman’s popular song fit in well with the theme of that conversation.
i didnt read this whole entire thing, but it looks like kyles mom tried to settle things, and then after that jake strated up again. what did kyles mom actually say?
that she would only give him $50, so basically Jake would get screwed for the remaining $370.
but he agreed to $50 and that he wouldnt take it on the boards, then for some reason he did anyways. i just read the first post again and it says nothing about it not fitting, now has it even been on his car yet? is he sure it doesnt fit? i mean my ben ogle bars arnt the prettiest things in the world, nor do i care. they work. but if they didnt fit i would be pissed.
It wont even fit in the car. Thats the main thing all of us are talking about. Its not the fact that it doesnt look pretty, its the fact that he can use it period. It will not bolt in to his car. And Ben’s stuff looks great.

I was about to give up at that point. As for jake… I feel very sorry for you and I hope this problem gets resolved in your favor. I take an advanced autoshop class at my high school and ive seen better welds than that from some of my classmates. We have only been welding for about a semester (18 weeks). Kyle obviously does not want to admit that his work is garbage. To top it off he thinks he is the shit because of his experience with working on cars, racing, and welding. :wtf:
:lol: exactly. tig or mig, he misrepresented his work. what if you were a newb and didn’t know the difference between mig and tig? he showed you nice, clean, professional tig welds (charging as much too) and gives you neglected, stick-like crap that doesn’t fit. c’mon, i could give my nephew my mig and a grinder and he could do better. i would just have to measure and cut for him.
actually even stick isn’t as bad. ever notice the welds on gym equipment? they don’t even clean em up so there’s a tiny bit of splatter but at least the heavy duty coat covers it up well enough so that 99% of people don’t notice.
