for all the people saying spark plug and wire , that does not make any sense to me , how could brand new ngk stuff make your car not starting,
all i can think of its battery, you said had it checked few weeks ago, if it cranked slow and weak before , i am thinking its your battery
my old battery drains from sitting over one night, if i leave the car a day at house , wake up and crank it next day, it cranks extremly slow then it would start the car up, if i dont drive it for 2 days , starter wouldnt crank at all

have you try jump start?[/QUOTE]
That’s what I’m saying, the plugs and wires are new. I went back out and checked the main relay, it still works. The fuel pump still turns on, but it’s still not cranking. lol, I think I should try jump starting it, because it’s been sitting for awhile. I’ll do it tomorrow when I have another car o jump start.
Maybe the terminology that you’re using is confusing people… Cranking = The motor being turned over by the starter. If you say it isn’t cranking, then someone might say, “check your battery, starter, fuses, etc…” If you say that the car cranks, but doesn’t start, someone might say “check for fuel and spark.”
okay so today I try to jump start my car, and still nothing happened. It wouldn’t crank (no engine noise). I’ll check the starter relay when it stops raining in 25 degree temperature
In case you don’t know, I believe the starter relay is on the right hand side of the stereo console directly to the left of the glove compartment. If you don’t have a spare relay laying around, borrow one from your AC clutch or fan. Should be the same relay I believe. Those are located on the drivers side of the radiator, about half way down. There should be two there unless you’ve removed them.
okay, i’ve have tried jumping my car and still, nothing happens. I can tell the main relay is good because of the fuel pump turning on. I have yet to locate the starter relay. I will have to try that next, and how do you check if it’s bad. Replace it?
The starter I bought is used, but I went to autozone to test it, and it tested good. Jump start don’t work, and popping the clucth won’t work. All I hear is the fuel pump turning on. When I try to start it, no noise. I don’t know now, because the dizzzzzy is new. Can it be cause by the starter relay, if the starter is not engaging?
the starter has nothing to do with the engine ignition if the car is “push” started. the car not being able to start or spark and turnover(from push start) is whole different problem. < could be a bad battery.
does your check engine light stay on when the key is on the “ON” position?
the §§§§§ maybe new, but have you checked to see if it works?
have you checked to see if fuel is getting to your injectors?
also try a different battery for your car, your battery might be bad,
does your lights work with the car off? headlights, domelight, instrument lights, etc.?
if my car wouldnt crank i would get a new battery just to try it , you still can return it for full price, after new battery still doing that, means the starter is out, then i would push start, if it still doesnt start, that means ignition problem, might be distributor
if it was a battery the car would start by jump starting it, and if it was a starter it would start when you pop start it, sounds like u left something unplugged or put in wrong
my head hurts, but i aint gonna give up on my babay. Giving up is the easiest thing to do in life. I have to check my lights, then my cluster lights, then my battery. Might be getting a new battery but we’ll see.

Went to walmart to test battery and it tested good, just needed to be charged. Came back with the battery charged, and it started to crank a few times and then it stop. So decided to locate the starter relay and it was a pita, but very happy when I finally locate it and then got it out. Waiting on the starter relay…
I know you checked the gap on your plugs and seen that they fire but what do you have them gapped at? Cuz if you have fuel and spark you would have a running motor. Just cuz they fire out side the motor dose not mean they will fire in the motor cuz when your motor compresses the air and fuel the resistance across the spark plug gap increases and it is harder for it to fire I would try a smaller gap and see if it works. Also what type of spark plug wires are you running? Are they factory or after market and if aftermarket which ones? Start with going back to stock wires first before you pull your plugs.
okay. I replaced the starter relay and it still wouldn’t start. I then decided to bypass the clutch interlock switch wires and it still didn’t start. The battery is fully charged and the starter pass the starter test at autozone. I NEED HELP!!!
i read this post, now i went traveling between sep 2008 and july 2009, when i came home my car hadnt been starting since nov 2008!!! so i checked for spark and fuel, had fuel but no spark, so what i did was striped down my distributor and checked it, coil wasnt working, so i had one from my friends d16 engine and i decided to fit that but the mountings were different,(my engine is b16a) so i built one from two, my shaft bearing was worn so i used my friends, rebuilt, slapped it in… and no start, checked firing order seemed ok, checked timing… so checked fuel quality it burned with a lighter, the problem in the end was the distributor shaft in my friends where the rotor arm bolts on was 90 degrees off to my old shaft causing it to look ok on firing order but be 90 degrees off, swapped back my shaft with my mates bearing and it started first turn of the key! problem solved,
