:DI used T1.5s on the top because the 74s from superbrightleds will not fit in the stock base all the way. I had to trim the holes for it a little and it is a bit of a tight fit, but it does work.
You people need to make sure your bulbs go all the way down in the base. Being loose is what will cause them to flicker in and out. You SHOULD NOT use 74’s in place of 24’s. They are too small and fit too loose. This will eventually cause the above mentioned problem again.
Now as far as keeping the color even.
You need to make sure you get your 194s and 24s in the same color temperature. At first I bought 194s that were 6000k and 24’s that were 5700k. This caused the 194s to be too bright and color uneven. So I bought 2 more 24s and swapped the bulb bottoms with the 194’s bulb bottom. This now makes my color correct and my light even.
hey, sorry im new to this forum, still learning everyrthing… ha. I’m having troubles figuring out how to take my guage cluster out so i can change out some bulbs cause 3-4 have burned out and i can’t see anyyyyything. anyone with knowledge on how to change em out and the bulb sizes that would be a great help! thanks!
It shows you how to do it in the manual. You need to pull the speedometer cable out the transmission and feed it slack to the gauge cluster to be able to pull it out and take it off.
Be careful not to pull on the speedometer cable to hard. I did and cracked the back of the speedometer housing and ruined it.
Also this is a good time to re grease the inside of the cable. Dont do it with it attached to the cluster. You will get grease in the speedometer.
