i know someone told me already but can you tell me where to look for cheap intercoolers… there was a link someone gave me but i cant find the post.
“sparco” makes cheap intercoolers
:giggle:
if u are real cheap find a junkyard and see if they have any 1g or 2g turbo eclipses/talons on the lot lol
chances are you will end up getting a better one (its inevitable, accept it), so fork up the 200+ right now and get one of the above and have a nice shiny ic to compliment all your hard work
thanks guys, i think that i’ll go with the ic’s from johnnyracer, spearco has some expensive ass stuff, their “sale” prices are like $495. hopefully the 6" will fit good, dsm side mounts are cheap but thy are small and only fit where the battery is i am going to set this car up different, or better is more like it. this forum is awsome.
You will be happy with the 6". There are a lot of DA guys using them and are very pleased. I have the 6" and it fits like a glove. Member Coroncho on here has one as well. I just cut the middle grill out of the front bumper (92-93) and it fills the space very nicely.
these are not bar and plate intercooler… i dont have one (so no personnal experience) but ive red and heard you have gain with a bar and plate setup.
FFT
The bar and plate probably does give a slight gain, but the gains are probably very minimal. I have no experience with them so I don’t really know. However, if you are buying the Johnny Race Car new, then I would suggest getting the CCA from Homemadeturbo.com. The sponsors sell them for $200 shipped and they are bar and plate intercoolers. It is about the same price as the JRC.
No one like it but goto ebay i got a good size intercooler with no issue
hey, i just checked out homemadeturbo.com and it looks like they get their IC’s from johnny race car, i dont think that there is much of a gain when using bar and plate but like you all have said i wouldnt know first hand, on paper there doesnt seem to be a large differance, there is a little less pressure drop though :hmm: one or so psi. its more the ammount of outside air comming into contact with the frontal area of the IC. ahhh useless info.
