That looks like a good excuse to get a cat back exhaust to me. Same thing happened to me this time last year. I was dump truckin for about a week then the front side of the cat went too. I had a pipe welded in to where the cat was until I could get my exhaust bought and shipped. It cost me $40 and a couple places shot me down since it wasnt exactly legal. It doesnt look like you’ll run into that issue as your catalytic converter is still in place.
i got a fairly new exhaust from a local this past weekend and today one of the midas techs torched the broken flange and knocked it off for $30 so now i can put on the new one…i’ll take pics of it later when i go to put it on
major update…got a lot of work done on the teg the last couple days…pics
picked up chrome tips from the junkyard and polished them up
On the car
Then i test fitted my lower fog lights…still trying to figure out how to mount them:think:
did my oil change
and the best udate is my new brakes came in from 88Rotors {AMAZINGLY FAST shipping}
Removing the old rotors…WARPED
shiny
Finished! now i gotta paint my calipers
this car just keeps looking better & better
car is coming along GREAT. i’m really glad you’re replacing parts that NEED to be replaced first, instead of just jumping right into performance mods.
were you able to get all the bolts out of the heat-shield out from above? i’ve been thinking of painting mine flat black just to clean up the look of the engine bay a bit.
i’m doing a swap next spring, and it’ll have an aftermarket header on it (so i won’t be worried about a heat shield) but until then, i want to spruce up the engine bay a bit. everything else under the hood of my car is clean as a whistle, but the heat shield just looks a little “dull” compared to everything else.
how long did it take to get the heat shield off?
thanks man…means alot

yea i got out all the bolts…i soaked them with PB blaster so i think that made it easier…it took roughly about 5 min because i went slow so i wouldnt break them…funny thing is right after i put it back on the exhaust broke after the cat…i was like “what the hell did i do now” when i started it lol
went to the junk yard and found some goodies, cooling fan (not pictured), a broadway mirror i just found it on the floor in a DA and an armrest that i found under the hood of another DA lol:rockon:
ew!
small crack
MISC. pics
ordered some new corner lights…cant afford 1 piece…yet
LOL it cracks me up how similar your car is to mine! Except mine’s a 5 spd with the 93 front bumper, and my fogs don’t have glare guards…
very nice work your doing. I wish I had time to go out to a junk yard and do some treasure hunting.
oh really? post some pics…i want to get a 93 bumper so bad
thanks alot, sundays are my only day off so when i get bored i head out there and having a project like this, the parts list keeps going up lol
Speaking of which…
Parts List
- Distributor O-ring-----Already got (OEM)
- Suspension-----thinking skunk2 shocks w/skunk2 coilovers or w/e i find at decent price
- Windshield molding/clips
- Door Moldings-------(maybe JDM thin moldings???)
- Camber Kit
- PCV lower hose-------(mine broke trying to pull out PCV:bawl:)
- Fuel Filter-------(on its way from Delray Acura)
- Horn(s)--------got some from a 94-97 Accord
- ECT sensor/fan switch-----not sure which one yet
- Oil pan-----(previous owner took it to sears and they rounded out the drain bolt)
So its been awhile since i updated my “Whatever I do to my car thread”…i got new pics though of my new corner light and “H” emblem i got from a EF at the junk yard
Im having an issue now with my radiator fan and foglights. Sometimes while the car is off the fan and fog lights would come on and drain my battery over night so I did extensive searching and found the problem to be either with the ECT sensor or a “fan switch” on the back of the block, not sure yet, can anyone elaborate?
Your “Honda” and “H” emblems, do the fit in the holes or did u adhesive them on there, and if they fit in the holes let me know exactly what cars u got them off, thx, Car is CLEAN!!!
No, unfortunately they dont just pop in to the factory holes, i had to cut the little things off the back then use this thing…I got it from Advance auto
Oh yea i got the emblems from a 90-93 Accord, or you can get them from any old school honda
My radiator fan used to continually run and drain my battery. I don’t know if this was a good way to solve the problem but I just made a switch so I could turn power on or off to the fan. Worked for me.
yea i been thinking about doing that but for now i just pull the #20 fuse at night lol
bahaha
yea its pretty funny every night when i break out the flash light, when i figure it out i’ll change the sensor or switch
well got a tiny update, got my fuel filter from Delray Acura in the mail today, it was a B***h to change because the previous owner had some cheap one in there and the bolts were rusty as hell. I know not many people would agree to this but i had to use a impact gun to get the damn bolts out:whew:…on to some pics!
Fuel Filter and Distributor O ring
old clogged filter next to the fresh one
PB blaster is the shiznit!
After new washers installed and everything tightened
DAMN!..i think I going to use some seafoam after seeing this :shock:
got some more goodies at the junk yard today and some new random pics as well as pics from my distributor o-ring replacement
Reason for change the o-ring
My wiper blades match my tires:rockon::rockon:
then i “modified” my rear wiper blade lol
On a side note, anyone know how to fix this, maybe a DIY on it
got some seats at the junkyard, $62 for the pair, not bad right? unfortunately someone took the head rests before i got to them:gunright::)…pics
Ahhh, much better
seats are a deffinate inprovement over the old set.
that wheel on the other hand is not going to be a DIY job.
