well im looking into picking up a y1 with lsd this weekend and i need a clutch to go with it because mine is for a 92-93 and that obviously wont work on a 90-91 tranny, my question is where to get one and what brand to go with for my application, I was wanting something along the lines of a 6 puck sprung disc, I have something along those lines now however I cant find that anywhere for the new tranny, any help is greatly appreciated
How ‘streetable’ do you want it to be?
I have a 6 puck spring disk from Clutch Specialties with a stage 3 clutch and its pretty harsh.
well its my daily so it has to be relatively streetable, but also able to handle 300whp, so i know i cant use an oem clutch for sure, so i need something that will work, i believe i have a 6 puck now not quite sure i will have to ask the guy i bought the motor from
i have an act heavy duty pressure plate that i can reuse, i need a 6 puck sprung 90-91 clutch disc cause thats what i have now only its for a 92+ if anyone knows where to get one i would appreciate it
anyone?
I have an Exedy Cerametallic clutch and am very happy with it. It will chatter a bit if your not careful when you let it out
well i was looking at www.competitionclutch.com but the part number for the 90-91 integra is the same for the 92-93 and it doesnt make sense to me. does anyone have any expierience with these?
and chunk do you have the thick or thin plate because according to prostreet the thick will fit every b series tranny except the 92-93 and the thin will only fit the 90-91, for the part number i was looking at
er… I have the thick plate… on my Turbo 1990 RS. I have a friend who has the thin on his b16 turbo hatch and I cant really tell the difference. The thick is supposed to last a bit longer.
Look over that page again, you can get either clutch for either years.
well i think im gonna go with a competition clutch 6 puck i can get it for relatively inexspesinve (less than 200 bucks) and use my act pressure plate
I still think that the best deal around right now for our cars is at www.clutchnet.com
I got a copper 6 puck sprung disk and a pressure plate for $258 shipped.
