Cometic Head Gasket Thickness??

YEA, I HAVE A STOCK BORE AND STROKE B18C-STOCK HEAD AND BLOCK, AND IM INSTALLING MY TURBO KIT AS WE SPEAK—I HAD 190WHP AND 137WTQ…WITH MY CROWER VALVETRAIN AND OTHER BOLT-ONS…BUT ITS NEVER ENOUGH, SO IVE CHANGED MY MIND AND IM GOING BOOST------
IT RUNS AWESOME NOW, BUT IM NEVER SATISFIED…LONG STORY, SHORT, IM AN INTAKE MANIFOLD AWAY FROM SWAPPING HEAD GASKETS, SO IM GOING COMETIC…ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THE THICKNESS I NEED TO DROP A FULL COMPRESSION POINT??
I AM 10.6:1 AND WOULD LIKE TO MAKE IT A LIL SAFER WITH 9.6:1 OR CLOSE TO THAT------A FRIEND RECOMMENDED .047 THICKNESS WITH THE STOCK 81MM BORE, AND THAT SHOULD GET ME CLOSE…IF ANYONE KNOWS FOR SURE, OR HAS A SUGGESTION TO WHAT THICKNESS I NEED FROM COMETIC TO DROP A FULL COMPRESSION POINT THAT WOULD BE AWESOME, THANKS IN ADVANCE, SORRY FOR MY LIFE STORY ON HERE…HAPPY HUNTING!:gunleft:

First, why do you believe you need to drop a full point of compression? Do you like a car that is a dog out of boost?

Second, how many PSI and how much power are you pushing presently?

You do realize that by lowering compression you will be losing power at the same boost level.

are u affiliated with the company xenocron? i just bought a chip burner and e-prom emulator from you this week, but neway…
ive had the same thought in my head, but i keep getting multiple opinions about making it safer…im running 10psi, not much, i was always told it is safe on 10.6:1, but i have the engine open, so i thought it wouldnt hurt my cause, i always liked the fact i have a strong engine already and just adding a power adder. my friend that tunes my hondata says i can leave it alone too, with such low boost…u think i will lose that much at low rpm? it makes sense…what do u think would be a better drop in compression? what gasket would u run?

considering i just replaced T-belt/water pump/head gasket with arp headstuds about 8-10k miles ago, should i let it ride??
but take it easy im on here for different opinions, i dont normally post on here, so just be helpful, thanks

[sarcasm]No, I am no way affliated with Xenocron the company [/sarcasm]

LOL

At 10 psi, there is no reason to drop your compression. Throw a stock head gasket on there and call it a day…

The only reason you would want to lower your compression is if you were reaching your knock threshold and a relatively low amount of boost and wanted to increase the amount of boost you were running in hopes of adding power by raising your knock limit…you are no where close to that.

no need for the sarcasm, you can just say yes i am, and off we go:run:

got to have a little fun…

0.075 head gasket… i wonder how well that would take high boost. oem honda gaskets for life.
