computer shuts down @ 5400 rpm

i have a build 97 gsr in my db1 with port n polish n 5 angle job. its obd1 n it has hondata s300.when on the dyno every time it reach 5400rpm the computer shuts off . can anybody please help or give some advice. ihave 685 injectors.thx alot . sorry is turboed with garreet 3076 n fmic

what do you mean by computer shutting down.

1 check engine light comes on at 5400 then motor dies

2 the motor wont rev past 5400 (acts like a rev limiter)

3 reving at 5400 driving or just stomping on the pedal parked.

do you have a wideband connected. what is your afr reading at 5400.

what is the vacum reading when u press on the pedal at 5400 at a parked postion

did you try adding fuel to the low cam map.

2 seem like the problem . but i wiil print this out n give to the tuner and i will come back with all the info u ask for . by the way thx alot for your help

my buddy had tis same problem wiht his b20 turbo i dont know exactly but it was to do wiht his injectors using the wrong kind high impedence and low impedence had somthing to do wiht it he wouldnt rev past 5400 then change injectors and problem solved

injectors ia 685.car is a 91 db1 with 97 gsr swap build bottom end with aries piston n eagle rods stock sleeve .5 over bored compression i think is 8:1 but not sure. port n polish head with 5 angle valve job ferrea valves n spring n retainers.victor-x 3in dp with hks high power. dont know the size of fmic but its really big obd0-obd1 gt 3076r turbo log mani hondata s300 msd stuff nology hot wires with b16 tranny.thats all i can think of now.thx again for the help.its really fustrating thats the car is doing this we been on it for a week now.we are thginking thers is something wrong with the wiring. could it be?

honestly dude try puting some other injectors in it are your injectors high impedence or low impedence if yours are low try sticking high impedence ones in or if high impedence in there try low impedence my buddys car did the exact same thing and thats what the problem was or just go grab dsm 450s just to try it out

ok we took out thr hondata n change to crome lastnight . what happen now is the car rev pass 5400rpm but soon as it hit vtec the car start loosing power.

u have to tune your high cam on crome . your tuner has a wide band? your tuner should be able to datalogg your pulls. if you havent bought a wide band afr setup i think you should go out and get one before your car goes boom.

Not to be a jerk or anything but I gotta ask, are you confident in your tuners capabilities?

at this moment im not so sure anymore . this guy is been tuning honda for 8-9 yrs. but i understand that the tuner only tune your car they dont build it or fix it. the guy who build the motor is a diff guy and the guy who put the whole set up together is a diff guy and the tuner is the builder’s friend. but all 3 of them are there while the guy tune my car. theres onlt 2 tuners in toronto that i know of and the other 1 is super busy he cant even squeeze me in. but does not matter how good the tuner is if theres some things that fuck up in the build or the way it was put together we have to take everything apart and start from scratch again. this is so fustrating for me im losing my mind.tch if theres any input or advices u can give me it will be greatly appiciated!!! that go for all you guys thats been helping me out.THANK YOU!!!

ok this is wats going on now. hes gonna change the injectors n go over all the wiring make sure all the wiring are correct.

oil pressure problems not allowing the VTEC lobe to fully engage…

ive seen it a few times…and its not fun troubleshooting without an oil pressure gauge
