Some of the “springy” features aren’t strong enough. Using supports was not ideal either. Needs more tweaks.

But definitely create your own “build-thread” in your case to show your progress vs breaking it up in separate weekly threads.

Will try to reprint this this weekend. If it’s still a problem due to the small features, I may have to enlist that company that made the visor mounts - cuz those came out great.

10/4 keep me updated gotta take cowl back off to check the airbox cover I think the 3m tape you supplied didn’t last long

Had water come in thr car again

Hey @Db2juju !
If you think it’s that 3M tape you can try using silicone for a more permanent seal that isn’t dependent on the tape. Did you happen to notice anything when you inspected the area though? If not, in reality the cowl cover won’t solve all the problems, just the most likely one. It’s possible you have other issues as well. There are a lot of variables and entry points in that area . . . sigh.

Solidworks rolled out a new update and won’t let me run the application without downloading a 6GB patch. Download speeds consistently under 100KB/s all day despite my bandwidth being way higher.

Super frustrating. I’ll have to let it run and hopefully it’ll finish overnight.

Thickened some surfaces.

I purchased the nylon studs and bolts and will have to design a proper washer to fit everything together. Unfortunately I could NOT find these locally and they are coming from China. Next update will be mid October.

I received the parts. I need to print my design and see how they all fit together.

First attempt resulted in some warping. This could be due to the supports I have to use.

I am concerned about the flexibility of the prongs at the bottom. I’m going to try it with PETG. Nevertheless, the hex nut + screw + countersunk washer all fit together very nicely!

Much better print and slightly more flexible. I will test fit this soon.
