Custom Push Start Integra 1992 GSR

Yeah Thoeun, make this a TEG TIP! I wanna get rid of my old beat up broken key ignition switch. its the only real eye sore inside my car… lol

I would like to see how you wired this up teg tip be great

I’m not thinking of making a TEG TIP anytime soon, but I will take some pictures. I am too busy right now rebuilding my head and doing other upgrades.

i would like to know more about your is300 homelink visors. do they bolt right up? got any pics?

Sort of you need to use your da’s feet from your old visor and drill a bigger hole because the IS300 visor rod is a little big. I will post up some picture later tonight.

Teaser Pic…Work in progress. Have a long ways to go. Doing a auto to manual swap and abs delete at the same time.

Looking very clean. Can’t wait to see the finishing progress. Keep in mind that if the push start module fail you will have no way of starting your car manually with this set up. That’s also the reason why I kept my ignition key. I really like it though.
I’ve done an auto to manual swap on my integra that got stolen. For some reason when you swap an auto to manual the car seems to have more power. You’ll know what I mean when you’re done with the swap.

My ears are burning hahah!

The S2000 cluster swap wasn’t all that hard after the wiring was figured out. I’m actually wrapping up putting the cluster into my Talon now.
No clue why the pictures aren’t working on here though.

Aznlover65: Are you pleased with the Advanced Keys unit so far? I’m thinking about buying there complete package with the Smart Key. This thread came up in my Google searching.

ya put a wire up and pix lol

I think I can now say I’ve finished this project…

More to it than just luxury and cool factor…a semi competent crook can steal a 2 gen Integra in about two minutes. A couple of years ago I had a DB1 stolen were they popped the lock and started the car with a screwdriver. They defeated the steering lock by yanking on the steering wheel until it gave way. We have dvr cameras in front of the house and I timed them…At around 2am it took about two minutes to get in and drive off with the car. FWIW, the car was stock with no anti theft devices.

With the push start there is no ignition cylinder to pop. I have mine connected to my alarm, so you have to have my transmitter to get any kind of power to the car. I’m gambling that the push start plus alarm and two kill switches will make the crook look elsewhere for a more familiar setup and easier vehicle to steal.

yeah im sure its a good defense against theives, but kill switches and an alarm is good enough. but the idea of the push start thing for a car that doesnt come with it is cool.
but like i said, i wouldnt do it to my 2 door, i would for a 4door. lol it just looks cool.

ng8650 you should do a write up on how you wired it up or well send me how you wired it up as I think i will do it the same way to my alarm as well

What kind of alarm do you have? Mine was a viper/DEI. Hooking it up to my alarm required a relay. The rest was simple 12v connections and basically the push-start computer replaced the key cylinder/ignition harness. I hacked my ignition harness and spliced the wires to the corresponding wires on the push start harness. The hard part was fabricating a housing for the push start cylinder. Without support, the push start button just hangs there and comes loose after a couple of starts.

viper, clifford, dei I would need to know what wires go were as with out seeing it on paper it hard for me to do it here my email if you need it greazemunkey73@yahoo.com thanks man

Did you already buy the push start kit? The module has to have the jumper setting set for aftermarket alarms. Then the signal wire needs to be hooked up to your alarm. I used my alarm’s starter kill relay wire (I have two other hidden kill switches in place). I had to install a relay because the alarm’s wire sends a negative signal when armed and the push start module requires a negative signal when disarmed. So I wired a relay so that the module would recieve a neg signal when the alarm is off.

The only other alarm wire that needs to be connected is the ignition wire for the alarm. That wire is now hooked up to the push start module ignition wire. So only two wires from the alarm are direclty connected to the push start module (signal & ignition). The sensors and triggers for the alarm were untouched. All the other wires for the push start were hooked up per the push start instructions. Let me know If you run into problems during your install .

Advanced keys did a great job with their kit. I’m planning to buy the smart key as well. There’s just too many times where I disarm my car took off and left my car key remote at home. I ended up driving back home to get the key with the remote because I couldn’t arm my car. I can’t wait to get the smark key unit.

Great job! It looks really professional. Just remember to have a backup plan if your push start fails.
