if you can’t answer those questions from the pictures you provided alone, you shouldn’t even attempt it.
what he said. i dunno if the dude who did that is still on here or not but i remember the process. but if its OBVIOUS in the picture that its done, dont ask a question whether it can be done. btw its not a DA conversion, its a DC2(ITR-Integra Type R) conversion
people like Chip Foose, or as high a caliber should be doing this kinda stuff…don’t even think about getting the brinder or bondo out, cause it’s a lot more than that…this is a LOT of work and if attempted not even knowing how hard it can be, you will just OWN your car …
I’ve been trying to find the thread those pictures are from, but i can’t find it.
ok y’all seem to be “misreading” the whole concept of this post, i just want to make sure of the process if anyone has an idea of it, like "would the type r headlamp fit perfectly on my DA or would i have to make special holes for it to fit or some body mod to make it work like the hood, i think the type r are a lil bit longer than the original ones, thats what i wanna know, sure if i see the picture i can say that i should go buy the type r headlamps, 1/8 of paint for my car and thats it, replace my lamps put those and fix a little the hood but seems here y’all more focused on wether i do stupid question or not!
Thanks

Tasty says, “would the type r headlamp fit perfectly on my DA or would i have to make special holes for it to fit or some body mod to make it work like the hood, i think the type r are a lil bit longer than the original ones, thats what i wanna know, sure if i see the picture i can say that i should go buy the type r headlamps, 1/8 of paint for my car and thats it, replace my lamps put those and fix a little the hood”
OBVIOUSLY, from the pictures you can tell the type r headlights will not fit perfectly on the DA. You need to modify the hood, front bumper and fenders.
You will need more than the type r lights and a can of paint for this project…
it should bolt right up but in order for it to look good its gona call for fiberglassing if i remember correctly.
ummm…we answered your question, you misread us…you asked us if it’s a perfect fit, we told you it’s not. you asked us if there is much modding to do, we told you yes. they are shorter than the DA headlamps. to make them fit you gotta mod the hood, your fenders, from bumper, and wiring, and where they bolt on to the car itself. so in the end, your question WAS answered, and well at that.
you need to cut into the radiator support as well.
if it were easy it would be done a lot more.
yo thats not even a type R front… 92-93 front bumper, one piece headlights
and get a lip
that car belonged to Vardoulika, but the thread he made about the conversion has been deleted. you can try to contact him by email tho
on reallity those lights they aint longer then the original DA’S .
and yes , wat u really need , is the jdm itr lights and a good body shop , some one thats really creative and caring about his work , and , of course some like $3000.00 to get a complete paint job and the front done .
if planning to paint the car do it complete .
and yes tha DA looks sexy ,
oh crap my wife .
c ya
wtf? she think G2IC is porn?

is that funny or sad?
a bit of both? :run:
Hey guys, wow it has been along time since I have been on here. The process to do that conversion took me many hours alot of work and alot of brainstorming. The lights by no means what so ever bolt right up. The radiator support has to be completely gutted to even fit the housing to the headlights back there. The ones I had were also HID so they had the balasts and what not attached to the headlights. I had relocate the Battery remove the Power steering or if you can figure out where to relocate the P/S fluid tank you could maybe keep it, and use a Civic Si short ram intake. you also have to cut the bulkhead of the radiator support and drill new holes to bolt he headlights to. you have to modify the brackets on the headlights themselves to clear part of the frame on the teg. I had a CF hood so I had to cut and fiberglass the hood, The headlights are substantially shorter than the DA headlights are about 2" or so shorter. So the mid section of the hood has to be widened and the edges have to be cut back and reshaped. The bumper then has to be molded and shapped to line up to the headlights, that involved alot of polyflex for the build up and making the shape I wanted with the dip between the headlights. The fenders have to be cut and shortened at the tips and then welded and fiberglassed and brought out to fit the curves of the lights. So no this is by no means a simple task. It took me many hours of actual work and alot of sitting there staring at the car and the headlights.you also have to run Slim fans if you keep your AC because the housing of the headlights will push the condensor and radiator back about 1.5" which with regular fans would make them touch your header.
Hope this anwsered some questions for ya.

Jon
