why i cannot see the pictures?? it shows an X
Not sure, I think g2ic changed their website and tried to host photos on their site but screwed up…
For now you can find them on http://www.302found.com/albums/?name=sell_t031609 , about 1/2 way down the page under the cherry picker.
i asked that same question on the 3rd page. sloppy gave me this link for the pics
So I finally got around to changing my ignition switch. So far so good. Battery is fully charged and fuses are all good. We’ll see if this finally takes care of the issues my car has been having (keeps fingers crossed)
On a side note, I just noticed my car doing this recently, when I put the key in sometimes it won’t make the annoying beeping noise when the door is open. But sometimes it does. Hmmm
Been awhile since I posted anything…but I’m experiencing the same problem. It’s been happening over the last 3 years or so. I don’t drive the car that often but now summertime is here i want to zip around. I put in a new starter, battery and alternator. I also have an aftermarket alarm. Doubt that has anything to do with it. The car will start if you give it a boost from a car charger but without that you might be able to start the car after about 25 key turns. I’m going to try what Casper and Sloppy have done with the ignition switch. let cha know…
Here is a list of everything I tried:
new starter (would fix the problem for 2 weeks then itd be back)
new battery
new main power relay
new starter relay
checked grounds
checked battery cables
checked clutch switch
new ignition switch
if my problem comes back, then i have no clue where to go from here. its been 2 days and so far so good. drove it around yesterday and stopped on hills so it could roll down if it didnt start. did that like 6 times and it fired up every single time. hope this finally gets rid of my problem cause im currently not working so i dont have money to keep dumping into the car. as soon as i get a new job i plan on selling her and buying maybe a G37-S. but i didnt wanna sell it with a starting issue. good luck joey!
Thanks Casper! So I installed the ignition switch this afternoon and low and behold, it started up right away! knock on wood of course. It’s been starting right up everytime. Like you said maybe wait a bit and see how it goes. Like many of us I’m a G2 fan, but there is no fun in dumping alot of money into it at once. I’ve had this car for 11 years now and know more than I ever thought i’d want to know about this car! LOL! I definitely appreciate this thread.

Right on dude. I’m going on 3 days of no issues. Hope it works out for both of us. I actually have a G3 Integra GSR. Love the look. Never had 1 single issue until this starting problem came up. Just wish I had taken better care of the paint. My milano red looks like a hot pink now lol. Even if I wax the hell out of it. $1500 for a new paint job is just something i cant afford right now.
Keep us all posted on how your car does the new couple of weeks. I will definitely post if my problem comes back
Ok, so it’s been 1 week and no issues so far. Most of the time I can make it 2 weeks when I replace a part in the hopes of fixing my starting problem. But so far so good
2 weeks and no problems so far. WOO HOO!!
Though I did check my fuses and a few of them seemed to be blown. Bought some new ones, installed them, checked them and realized they aren’t getting any power. So I looked at my old ones and saw they aren’t blown. So most likely I have a lose wire “somewhere”. Going to write down exactly which fuses they are and then do some research to see if I can pinpoint the problem. Hope this is something else and not the root cause of my starting issue.
Well, it’s been a little over a week and i have to tell you my problem returned. It returned after the forth day. I was just so used of pushing my car to start it, I became numb to it all…so here is what I found out…
I figured everything was good in the engine bay, having got a new battery, starter and alternator. From the inside of the car I knew I just put in the new ignition switch and it worked for a few days… The only thing left was my alarm.
I have a Viper 5000 which has it’s own internal starter relay in the brain box. I bypassed the green wires from the brain box that connected to the black/white starter wire from the ignition and guess what? It was the strongest start I
got from my car in a while!!!:excite: there must of been some kind of small electrical short as well for it so fire up like it did. Needless to say I’m happy I found the issue. I’ll give it a few days and give an update. If it returns then I will
start scratching my head harder
Good luck with the power problem. I’m going start working on my gas fume smell…
2 weeks and no problems so far. WOO HOO!!

Right on dude! Hope that takes care of your problem permanently. I have also gotten so used to pushing my car, that even now that she is running good, I park her facing downhill no matter where I go just in case LOL. Stupid thing with my fuses is that for example, the fuse to my windows doesn’t light up, but my windows roll up and down no problem. Same with the dome light or my headlights. Weird, whatever. All seems well so far.
I don’t have a Viper, I have the other brand that is just like Viper, but I forget the name. My remote went out a few months ago. Even with a fresh battery, it wouldn’t hold a charge so I don’t use it anymore. And the alarm was good when it was first installed a few years ago, but the beep beep when I arm or disarm went out like 2 months after installation. The lights still blinked when I would arm or disarm, and the doors would lock and all that jive. It just wouldn’t beep. Perhaps that caused issues as well, who knows. Alarm is still installed, I just don’t use it
Ok, just an update, been almost a month and my starting issue seems to have finally been resolved. I want to thank Sloppy for sharing everything he went through dealing with this same issue thus leading me to finally fix mine. Hope this thread helps others as well. Thanks again everyone!
Hey, cool! You’re welcome, glad it worked out. My teg’s starting problem hasn’t come back either, sure was a mofo when it had it though lol.
I’m going to bring this back up because I’m having a very similar situation except my issue came out of nowhere. I have a couple questions (even though I think I know the answers) on some of the tests I’ve been doing. I pulled the under dash ignition switch plugs according to the Helms manual to check for continuity. I am getting continuity correctly at all 3 settings but a couple had some considerable resistance when moving the key between settings but once they “settled” apparently not enough to make my meter stop beeping. So I jumped the solenoid wire at the starter and ran 12V to it with the ignition on and heard the solenoid click distinctly but the starter did not turn over. To me that signifies that the solenoid is good as well as the interlock switch since the engine did not rotate (I’m troubleshooting by myself). Am I correct in this thinking? 92 GSR BTW. It seems that leaves only the relay as the culprit. The car had been starting fine since I’ve had it. Drove to work in the morning no problem. Went to drive home from work8 hours later, went thru the “pre-flight” checklist waiting for FP to come up, AFM to fire up MFR clicks etc… but went to start and got nothing. Haven’t run through the Relay or starter tests yet but I will if its not going to be a waste of time. Battery, cables, grounds are not the issue. I wanted somebody to chime in to let me know if I’m headed in the right direction…I just cant see a starter going from perfectly functional to dead in 8 hours while it sits in a parking lot.
Joey, any updates on your fix? Sorry for the resurrection of the thread, but I have the exact problem you were facing.
