Differences in these turbos

Hey guys I know some will tell me to search but i’m kinda new the to whole forced induction thing. I am building an LS/VTEC and was planning on running the SC61 turbo from precision but I know a lot of you say it will be too laggy so could someone explain the differences in the SC61 compared to the GT35R for me? I know the GT is dual ball bearing but what about max boost, max hp, spool times, when you will hit max boost and stuff like that. Thanks in advance

there is no uniformity to anyone of ur questions… a turbo will vary from engine to manifold to IC to piping…ect
this is a very broad question and you should explain what goals u have and then we can help understand what u want

Get the GT if you have the money. And more info on the setup.

yea, but a manifold change will not do all that much to spool time. i have had 3 different manifolds on my car and actually my log spools faster than my Mini-ram and elf style. If it is more effient–hell if i know, i only run a 42/48 so i can blow off and eat up h22’s.

Regarding the post, an LS/vtec ur sc-61 is a 60 trim with a big old housings? I am thinking u wont hit full until abotu 5k, and if ur bottom end isnt built that is not worth it. sc50 is better, or the new HKS BB turbo. Screw it, pick up a nice Turbonetics Y2k series!!!

Also could somoene let me know if I will need the resistor boxes or will I be alright without them?

there is a basic list the list is about a page long.
So which turbo would be better. I am looking to run upwards of 26 PSI boost and shooting for 450+ WHP

Turbonetics Y2K or HKS T51R  youll spool those right up :uhoh:

Bump. Could someone possibly answer my question about the SC61 or GT35R instead of going off about other turbo’s please

those manifolds look pretty pricey. you could probably get a better tubular from a fab-place (ie: krbfab, lovefab, etc.). I know nothing about the turbo question, sorry.

it depends on how much money you have to spend really, personally i think the sc61 would do you fine, plus, now that everyone is jumping on the bb bandwagon, you can pick up an sc61 for rather cheap, or you could go with something that would spool a little quicker like the sc50 i have for sale  but i would say sc61

Turbonetics Y2K or HKS T51R :jerkoff:

Compton how much are these turbos? max supported boost? max hp? ball bearing?? details please since people seem to be raving over them

unfortunatly both those turbos are out of my price range so once again i come back SC61 or GT35R?

sc61… yup

lol those turbos are supra turbos, about half the size of our engines, supposed to be up to about 1500 hp.

here ya go, thats a GT28RS next to a T51R
