Does anyone have an hid kit on their teg

i wanna know if its worth it to buy for a teg and how hard is it to install. i saw a couple in my town and they dont look bad at all.

I’m pretty sure they are not street legal (DOT approved) to be used in an integra. I’m sure they will work great and look cool but you risk getting a ticket and possibly having to remove them.

I know 4drb16a has a set in his sedan.

Just get jdm one pieces that pump out way more light onto the road than HID would be on a USDM headlight. The usdm headlights lights a spot in the middle of the road that is like 10 by 10 feet. Basically, they suck. My fog lights with the removed glare gaurds pump out more light than the stock headlights. Just my 2 cents.

One pieces= more widespread visibility and further
Hid= one very lit spot.
One pieces and HID= havent herd of a hid conversion for the H4H’s. But maybe modify the socket for an H4 bulb. That way you can put in HID. Its in teg tips.

By the way, i think HID is legal since it is a retrofit kit. I saw it in superstreet. They said stop using your illegal blue bulbs and get the real HID.

well that wont matter here in my town cause cops dont stop anyone with modifications like that; i dont even think they care anymore because everyone here either has somthin not DOT approved or somethin illegal on their car

wouldn’t be worth the time to put it in,

1.If u look at the housing of the stock USDM or JDM, the casing is meant to spread light, if u look at it, it has a bunch lines and stuf, the housing is not meant to handle HID light, if u put it in like one of the members did, it looks cool, but it spreads that shiet everwhere, and in return blinding everyone on the road, which is not a good thing, if u look at already equiped HID cars the housing is clear

the housing is clear, but often times, their is another layer of fuzzy glass that encases around the hid bulb so the light is toned down like on the Acura TL. But your point is clear, its not worth the money. I would do it if i had the reflective type housings like the new accords, rsxs etc.

HiTechGSR has them in his car They look really bright and nice

HID’s make you look like you’re just running around with your highbeams on. I’ve seen them in person and true HID doesnt have the same effect like a car with projector style headlights or reflector housings with a crystal clear lense.

it would be hardly legal, the housing is not designed to handle and correctly output the light emitted by the HID. u would be blinding everyone on the road. just get raybrig superwhite in H4H, they look really nice, but that ricey blue and green.

Philips HID in the one pieces…
Leif was right…

Post pics tomorrow…

How did you do that?..was it hard?..i was thinking of doing that to mine but it looks difficult.

I think if you are seriously considering putting in an HID kit, you might want to consider retro-fitting in one of those JDM Type R headlights, the black housing ones with the projector style light(at least I think that’s from a JDM type R). I have seen these lights on a blue g2 teg…maybe even on here. The point of my bringing this up is this…the projector lights would allow the HID kit to focus the light more downward and not blind everyone. Take a look at the headlight housing from like a BMW or Audi and you will see some sort of projector style housing. Trying to put in an HID into any g2 headlight(USDM or 1 pieces) would probably be a disaster and a big waste of time and money. Spend the $$ and get some good raybrig or PIAA headlights and leave it be with that.

Ive got real HID in my teg. I had them in the one pieces, but they dont work real good… spreads the light all crazy like up in trees and all over theplace and ****. I decided just to keep my usdm lights and they work great… ive had them in for a couple of months now and no one has even flashed me as if i had my hi beams on. I think all you have to do is make sure you have the lights aimed all the way down and youll be straight!

I have HIDs in my 1-piece headlights and think they work great. The position of the light source of the H4H bulb and my D2R HID bulb are identical. Yes, the HID’s are brighter, but it casts a similar pattern on the road, and when positioned correctly, are not “blinding” as some has stated. I will posts some pics tonight of my setup. I used the bulbs and ballasts from a '01 CL, which I got for cheap from a body shop.

Them saying stop using your illegal blue bulbs and get the real HID doesn’t mean HID isn’t illegal. I LOVED Critical Thinking (PHIL 001).

if you cant afford hid then one pieces are a great investment over ‘hiper’ bulbs. i was amazed at how much brighter the jdm lights are over our crappy usdm ones. i cant imagine what it would be like if i put ‘hipers’ in the one pieces. ill pass due to the reliability factor tho… and dont wanna pay the premium for piaa/raybrig so…

Anyone with HID… can you please post pix? I really wanna see what it looks like on a teg.

something that i think that is really screwed up is that there aren’t any projector lights for our g2’s one pieces are cool but there sre so many other cars that have projections available for them and i can’t help but feel such as we have been some how left out of the loop in more than just that area just for example if you wanted altezzas you just looked and looked then they finally came out i was just letting off some repressed angerment about how it seems that g2’s always get looked over for parts but pay no attention i will bable anyway:burnout:

ok, got some pics…

This is how I got the kit. The ballasts are made by Stanley and the bulbs are D2R Osram 4200k.

I shaved the base of the HID bulb and then notched the socket similar to the H4H bulb. Notice how the light source for the HID bulb is at the same depth as the light source of the H4H.

Different angle. Notice the notch.

I then notched the socket for the wire I’ll be using to secure the bulb:

Here it is in place. I used a coat hanger wire and the stock mounting points:
