do you know they do this at the dragon from first hand knowledge or is this something you have encountered elsewhere? because I thought the cops were not going to endorse driving fast at all?? I understand having their blessing is good, but are they going to give it to us?
Yes we went to TOTD and the officers took us down the first time and we as responsible motorists are to maintain the speed limit. You do not want to drive “fast” on the TOTD because you will get in trouble in a hurry and its hard as it is to drive the speed limit up there. Plus I know I do not want to get pulled over or pulled out of a ditch/mountain side because I or someone else was being irresponsible. This event should be organized with officials up there it will make it much more enjoyable for EVERYONE. I am not looking to break the law while I am up there and neither should anyone associated with the group.
Okay, that sounds like a good idea. Sorry for asking such ingnorant questions about this, but I haven’t heard about this before… I’ve been up the TOTD a few times, but on my own and not with a group. I will look into this orientation and see what I can find for us when we get there.

I mislead you a little, I talked to our friends again that organized it and we had our own officer come along. But they have been cracking down more on TOTD riders. All they riders now stay on the NC side because the TN cops are total dicks.

yeah im definitly down for comin up there. dont really know anybody on here but im sure i could make some friends. i love TOTD but whats this about talkin to the cops about it? you dont have to inform the cops to drive down a state highway last time i checked.
Dont talk to the TN cops their dicks. But yeah I had mistook an officer that we brought along in another club for the mountain PD. Speaking with my friends again, they said just stay on the NC side of the mountains and you should be fine.
see that what i thought. readin the threads tho it threw me off. the TN cops up there hate when they see clubs up there. they make it a point to stop you and say something. thank you for rethinkin that and i will definitly be there.

yeah we can meet up. I’m not sure how many cars will be with me yet, but I know it will probably be a couple. I have to pick up my little brother in High Point (hes taggin along) so we could defintly meet. (I used to live in HP… lol)

well fellas i was up at the dragon this weekend and it was my first time gettin to drive it. I must say deals gap is bad ass. has everybody that is gonna come to the meet drivin the tail before? if you havent you are in for one awesome expirience. that was the most fun of i had with my teg in a while.
which is EXACTLY why I continue to try and get meets together up there. it is awesome! :rockon:

sorry for not posting in a while!!!
Great news… got the db up and running but the bad news is now i have electrical problems with the ignition system. i’ve gone thru 3 distributors, 2 are mt distributors and the other is a automatic distributor. I thought by narrowing down the problem with the dis i thought i solved the problem but found out it might be either the starter might be going bad or it might be my ignition switch. I’ll try to figure it out before the meet at the tail. wish me luck!!!

here’s hoping that when i change out the ignition switch, all my problems will be solved.
