My new upcoming turbo setup off a DSM 1g.
1g side mount
tdo5h turbo ported
Stock 1g Ic piping
DSM 450cc injectors
internal wastegate wit hi performance paper clip
B&M FPR
MSD6AL wit 2step
Hks boost gauge
TurboXS BOV
SSAC header wit DSM flange
2.5 Hks DP cut and welded to fit
chipped P06 done by Chris, Cj Automotive Xenocron
Fast-turbo oil lines (whenever the hell they get here)
Its basically pretty smooth had to notch the crossmember a real lot for DP to fit and just cut out a good deal of metal by the cold air intake for the side mount to fit correctly. Im just waiting on the oil lines to come in so I can bolt up everything for good and put all the gaskets and stuff on and run the return line. Let me know what yous think.
that adds 30hp. weight reduction from ur generic cotter pin. Thats how I got it by the way lol. I just gotta get a pin that fits. By the way the complete turbo stuff cost maybe 750 or so. Thats injectors, Ic, ic pipes, turbo, dp, BOV, headers, oil lines, boost gauge, turbo timer.
Just a couple of things I’ll add to make sure you don’t overlook them since I did and had to deal with them afterwards. Make sure the wastegate actuator is tensioned tightly. Mine wasn’t when I put it in so therefore I could not build boost properly. I then didn’t have room to bend the bracket to tighten the tension because of the front trans. mount, so I had to cut a piece out of the arm and weld it back together. Also, it will be a good idea to grind down that front trans. mount so that the wastegate actuator won’t hit it when the engine torques. I also did not do that originally and killed my first actuator from pressing against it. And did you weld any material back into the cross member where you notched it? It may not hurt anything, but it definitely takes away from the structural integrity of the car. Good luck with everything and good to see another G2 representing DSM parts!
Well I was gonna grind down that mount a bit just for that reason cuz its like really really close to that mount like millimeters lol. Since I dont have a welder at the garage Im using I cant really reinforce the crossmember yet… but I plan on doing it when I get the car running Imma take it to my dads hes gotta welder at his garage and Ill take care of that.
