Hello everyone this is my first post here at G2IC and i just wanted to talk about my 92 integra gsr that i bought off ebay last year. So last year around this time of year i just came back from my last deployment and was bored and wanted a project car. So i go onto ebay right away type in integra and there she was a 1992 integra gsr with a buy it now option for only 200 dollars. So i thought it was a scam but didnt care and took my chance and bought it and wouldn’t you know a week later the car really came to my house and everything worked. I could have died. So that was my rare find for the year.
The car is currently not running as i am getting ready to do a whole motor rebuild and send my head out to get a 3 angle valve job done. The only problem im having is finding forged pistons and eagle rods for it cause it has a .57 trim complete turbo on it and the old motor components were stock, but i just want to beef it up a bit.
as far as I know, the B16 and B17 share the same deck height meaning a B16 crank being used is possible and easier to find parts for. the B17 is a basterd child of b series engines and finding parts to suit your needs can be challenging. it’s basically a stroked B16. they share the same main caps, head etc… it’s a PR3. so if it were my engine, I would search to find more info to doing that because using B17 internals can get very expensive.
Oh i know it will cost me but its also a pain in the ass so far but im still doing my research im just glad i found and got that car for only $200 hehehe. Oh and thanks for the info it helps a lot
basically a b17 is just a stroked b16, the main differences is crank and rods. i’m building mine for boost, and yes, it gets pricey. the only manufacturer i found for rods was Crower, and they are Forged H-beams (if i remember correctly off the top of my head) and they were pretty close to $800. i also went with je/srp pistons, which were roughly 400/500 if i remember correctly. Good Luck, and NICE find for $200 (Y)
yes, your right, crower is your only option for the B17…not worth the strain to use the crank when B16 are errrrrwhere!!! and as far as rods. you can probably get away with eagles depending on power goals…90% of boosted street setups use these. I wanna say there “advertised” to hold up to 600+hp… don’t quote me exactly.
I found a good read you might wanna check out

what $200 dollars. “THATS A LOW PRICE” got any pics of the car when you got it.
ditch the b17 bottom end and get a b16 shortblock. its way cheaper and the parts are everywhere. people give those things away for crying out loud lol.
i wish i would have done that. i could have sleeved the poopie outta a commonly available block and boost it to the sky
