I’ve been searching and can’t find any information about swapping a barometric pressure sensor. The problem is I screwed up my pr4 from my 91 with the internal sensor, but i have a pm6 and a pr4 from a 90. Both the other ecu’s don’t have the internal sensor however, the pr4 has an empty spot outlined for the sensor. Does anybody know if I can just desolder the sensor from the 91 and solder it in the 90?
BARO sensors on 90 DA’s are located behind a kickpanel. I dunno if you could just solder in a sensor where the 91 ecu has it. In my old teg I had the code and I bought other ecu’s from Ebay and junkyards and all were throwing the codes. I had an auto which had a good sensor in it but I didn’t know which was the BARO sensor in the ecu to try swapping it out.
Are you using TurboEdit?
Search for a program on PGMFI.org called NOCEL.exe and use that to disable code 13…no need to go through the hassle with the Baro sensor. Its not worth it unless you live in an area where the altitude changes greatly very often.
xenocron, does the moates burn 1 work with turboedit? I can’t seem to get a chip to work. It says it’s succesful but when I put it in the ecu i get a solid led. Just wondering if it is the burner or me. thanks.
its you…
if using an SST chip, set the start to 008000 and the end to 00FFFF in the chip addressing.
buffer addressing should be 000000 and 007fff
yeah I just figured that out thanks, though. Oh and if anyone is wondering I soldered the pa sensor in the 90 pr4 and everything works fine no cel and runs great.
got any pictures of which sensor it is? like I said before I have a couple automatic ecu’s with good sensors and a manual with a bad sensor.
I did the same thing switching a PA Sensor into a 90 ECU worked fine
wish I would’ve known this while I had the CEL in my black DA. anyway could you point me in the direction as to which is the PA sensor.
thanks for the pics
