Has anyone ever tried these?? They look real sturdy and supported.

WOW, I will tell you that the bar has come a long way. that actually looks decent, but look at the price…getting up there with avid now. I really don’t know the strength of these bars but the stage 1 and 2’s failed horribly. this piece is actually nice. try it out and let us all know if ETD finally got it right with the stage 4.

Every now and then they have the set-up on ebay and it’s only $250 shipped. That’s w/o the center engine mount and extra end mounts. Just like smokeintegra said, they were having a lot of breakage with all previous bars. You can look on here and there’s a guy that had them break 3 times I think. On honda-tech people do nothing but slam these as well. But everybody on honda-tech are still in baby strollers and never driven a car! I’m actually thinking about picking the traction bars up as well.

Thank you so much for your replies guys. I’ve been waiting for someone to respond for like 3 days.

I didnt know anything about the history of the company, nor did I know that 3 previous models were made and failed horribly. I think I’m going to buy one soon during tax season. I’ll make sure to take pics and let everyone know if its worth it.

I’ve heard good things and bad things about the Full-Race traction bar as well. Its just for the price your not getting as much support or brackets so I researched and found these guys. Looks pretty promising though.

Thanks again.

In for your personal review!

along with what I said on my other post. this bar looks nothing like it’s previous bars. I am hopeful for this one though.
STAGE 1

Stage 2
new through weld

Old butt weld

Bar is no longer butt welded to the plate. The mounting plate is drilled and the bar goes through it and welded on the outside. This added a lot of extra strength and completely eliminated welds breaking
double bolted to the control arm

  • Our new mounting system consists of a bolt for the radius arm to the control arm plus a plate bolt and spacer into the second hold increasing the strength of the radius arm to the control arm. We don’t single mount them to the control arm as one bolt holding it on could break and cause you to lose control of your car.
The double bolting system as you see to the right here shares the load from the car across two bolts making it much much stronger and almost impossible to fail at this point even under heavy loads.

from the website:
Larger & Thicker main tube on the traction bar

  • Thicker Plates for mounting
  • Fully Tig Welded for added strength vs mig
  • Swaged Steel Radius Arms
  • New Stronger Aurora Bearing rod ends
  • Double Rod ends on radius arms
  • New mounting plate to control arm
  • New High Grade mounting bolts for rod arms
  • New High Grade chassis bolts. No need to use your old OE chassis bolts with washers.

Sweet deal. Thanks for the input. Now I just need to find a distributor of the products. Dont like dealing too much with buying stuff straight online.

I ordered a set of Innovative Mounts traction bars but they were on backorder so I grabbed a set of ETD’s. I’m hoping for the best.

looks promising, but after research into the product I think I’ll stick to my original plan of going with the full-race.

ETD’s had too many problems on the g2 chassis for me to be comfortable–nothing’s been proven yet in this arena. haven’t seen any issues reported on the full-race version.

For that price I would, rather get the innovative traction bar and motor mounts.

in all honesty, Innovative isn’t better. I’ve had Innovative and WILL NOT go back to them. EVER!!! There Design is not very effective and WTF is there front mounting brackets? what a horrible bar!!!

^ This guy knows what hes talking about and understands that the crossmember is a vital part of g2 integras suspension.

omg i still cant belive these people are still considering these bars, THEY DO NOT HAVE A GEN2 INTEGRA TO DO R&D ON THERE OWN BARS!!!

guess the only way you people will learn is at the cost of your own life. god spared mine, 3 times. hopefully god will spare yours and the others WHEN THOSE BARS BREAK…

Damn, GTIntegra maybe you should post your link that was passed on years ago when you almost lost it. My placeracing bar broke and damn near put me into a curb. close calls. people are going to do what they want to do, it’s a fact of life. the only thing I say is Be safe.

Thread’s a little old, but oh well. just wanted to share my experience so far. ordered it last wednesday afternoon, showed up at the house tuesday. pretty quick shipping, and…the thing actually fits! i couldnt believe it!
finish was very nice, thick black powdercoat too. nice hardware. construction seems very solid. time will tell. (this is version 4 that i bought) instructions were a bit thin, but hell, if you have the mechanical ability to install one of these in the first place, you can figure it out no problem.

so, all in all, i would say my experience so far with them has been surprisingly positive. called right up, talked to a real person within a few rings. they had them in stock, and the price was as-advertised. placed order, part shows up. magic…

we’ll see how it holds up.

I really like there Radiator mount kit. that’s about the only thing I would feel safe about getting until this bar is fully track tested. my placeracing bar didn’t break right away. it took years of abuse N/A and then broke. My Z10 has taken years of turbo abuse and still here. only time will tell. where’s the pics. let us see how it looks mounted up

ill have to steal my roomates camera tonight, hehe… it fits nice, not hanging too low. the header is now the lowest part on the car-which frightens me slightly.

hows the traction bar holding up? very interested. Not sure If I want this bar or the innovative

anyone try explicit speed traction bars, they seem pretty decent…

yes i have them. Explicit Speed uses a nearly perfect DA chassis to make his bars. They fit PERFECTLY! i put up pics check this section. I installed a set of ETD on another da. I did not like them as much.

go with full-race, you cant go wrong there, got mine, loved it, fits perfectly and it has amazing craftsmanship, EXCELLENT bar, i believe i posted a product review about it but i can’t seem to find it =S
