I recently lost my 93 DA with only 66,XXX original miles on her, but have come back a little bit stronger, with my 2000 GS-R.
It currently has a Turbonetics turbo kit on it along with the Evolution wastegate. Its boosting 8 PSI, but I really dont feel this is safe on the stock motor. I was wondering if there is any way to turn down the boost. I have looked and looked and cant seem to find any info on this wastegate.
My look at Summit Racing website, part of the description says its adjustable. Is this possible, or will I have to just buy a new spring (if thats even possible)?
I have the same wastegate as you. I may have a lower psi spring for ya. Let me look. Also you can take the top off and see if there is any shims above and below the the spring. If there are take them out and it will lower you psi as well.
I will scan in the documents I have on mine to to send ya. Send me an email @ nick.ice@colder.com this way I can send you the info.
I believe the F-MAX Turbokit came with the MC2 (correct me if I’m wrong) from ERL. It is basically 2 added injectors on the intake pipe. A sensor will pick up boost and then add more fuel. The car has not been tuned at all, running on the stock settings.
It currently also has a V-AFCII from Apex-i. The guy I bought it from says the kit has been on for 7-10K miles, with regular oil changes. Just now hitting, 70,4XX miles currently, and got the car at 69,5XX. I have no really big power plans for this car; just a dependable, daily driver to have some fun with.
I do plan on changing the fuel management to upgraded fuel injectors, walboro fuel pump, and hondata. I did a good bit of research for my 93 LS, and this setup goes with the DA, but will this setup run with my DC?
i have that wastegate. they make springs for 5psi on it. i have 7 psi springs, 9 psi springs and shims for the springs to get it up to about 14psi. but they do make a spring for 5 psi. get on there website and u can order it if their store is open. if not, you may be able to call them and order through the phone.
HOWEVER, your car is obd2 which means its probably easy to tune. go ahead and have it tuned by a professionaly and you’ll be fine with 8psi.
