I just ordered a RSR ExMag for my 92 GS and I was wondering what would be the best cheap to mid level header. I also ordered a MANGAFLOW cat.
P.S. I am a newb this is my first car. everything has been a learning process but its been lots of fun
Gotta say go w/ the Megan. It’s 2.25 all the way through, (so it is the same size throughout the entire system) & it’s like $150 shipped. It’s full stainless steel too. Quality stuff, just ask the folks on here. The design is an improved DC type; w/ bigger primaries. :burnout: :manual:

megan all the way. i just had mine put on . and with my greddy sp2 it sounds bad ass. alittle louder then before but its not super loud.ya i paid about 150 shipped. i can feel the added hp althought i cant say how much different it feels cuz i had an itr flywheel put on at the same time. but megan is good quality stuff every person that knows about cars that saw the header loved and was speechless when they found it i was 150 shipped…
I have a megan header, Its a great header. I had it for a while now with no problems. There really easy to install to. But one of the nuts on the old header was so rusted that it broke the threads and it wouldnt come off(hard to explain), but I got out the trusty cut-off-wheel and took care of that problem
yeahh go with Megan and when u put it in clean the headers and if you want heat wrap it help out to me =)

Duplicolor high temp engine paint… A few coats of primer then a few of Ford Blue. Yeah and I did the vasline on the letters trick and it worked great. At first I tried just scraping the paint off but that wasnt working at all and I made a mess of the blue around the letters. So I took a flat piece of plexi about the same size of the letters and coated it with vasline then I layed it on the letters and then took it off. It left a thin coat of vasline on just the letters cause there raised from the rest of the valve cover. After the paint was dry to the touch I just used my finger nail to remove the paint on the letters.
to add about cleaning the megan header. i noticed that mine where starting to really turn black. they were cleaned when they came out of the box and then again right before they went on. neways i figured oh well nothing i can do now. i spent 2 days getting on it alittle more. still shifting softly due to clutch break in. and i guess that did the trick there now a nice bluish color and hardly no black…
that would be cool if it turned blue for me to to match my blue valve cover
that sucks man, i was really upset that they were going to turn out black, but like i said after about 2 days get on the throttle alittle more, there turning blue again…
thats why you heat wrap… it will turn blue when you get on it because of all of the heat

yeah they make it in black or white…
ive heard that using header wrap can cause the header to crack is that true ?
no why would it crack?? as long its SS not ceramic… the ceramic one will crack on you but not SS
