just wondering what kind of exhaust system you guys are using for your turbo setup…i’ve been lookin around for a cat back exhaust system for my integra but i can’t seem to find anyone that makes it…would you guys prefer a custom from the muffler shop??? what size piping?? is 3" too big for a t3/t4 turbo setup??? info please…thanks
exhaust systems on a turbo car have one major rule of thumb. the less restriction the better. yes go with 3". many either go with the thermal 3" cat-back or fully custom for our cars. make sure to run a 3" dp for the most gains aswell. really it all comes down to what turbo manifold u are running. some back pressure on a fast spooling log manifold won’t hurt much really. have u done any research on how turbo’s flow?
I too was looking for a good exhaust when I ran into a problem with back pressure. I ended up going with a 2.5" pre-bent kteller piping setup with an 18" magnaflow resonator and muffler. Took me a couple hours to weld up and go, really simple install that i’m sure any muffler shop would weld up for you if you don’t have access to one.
Piping kit can be found Here

i’ve got my turbo setup going but just seems too restricted rite now…i have a 2.5" dp and i believe 2.25 catback that was already on the car when i got it…rite now i’m trying to fabricate a 3" dp and probably go to the mufller shop for a 2.75" exhaust with a test pipe…
The Corkey Bell book “Maximum Boost: Design, Testing, and Installing Turbocharger Systems” suggests that the full benefits of 3" diameter pipe will not be fully realized until 700 horsepower! To learn more about why, pick up the book. Clearance with the rear suspension can also be an issue with 3" pipe, especially if the car is lowered. If you choose to have a custom exhaust system made and crush bending is the only option (mandrel bending machines are expensive so a lot of shops do not have them) then 3" would be the way to go. The extra diameter will compensate for the diameter you lose when crush bending. If you have access to mandrel bending services then 2.5" diameter pipe is ideal to use. The 2.5" pipe is good to 500 horsepower.
