Falken Azenis RT-615's....

Well i have been a big fan of the rt-215’s and have always driven on them.
They have now been replaced by the rt-615’s. So i am asking if anyone has had any experience with them or knows anything on them. I have searched g2ic and didn’t really come up with anything great and nothing great with google either.

My current set of azenis are on their way out and i am need of new tires, so i am trying to figure out what to get next since they took my favorite tire away.

ryan

man just look at the overwhelming wealth of information flying it

edit: man just look at the overwhelming wealth of information flying IN

flying what?

Flying moot? Because that is what the point is… 215’s are not being made

my deepest of apologies for having the word “it” instead of “in” …

yet another reason why g2ic people suck, they rather rip someone apart than help them out.

:bang:

I’m sorry bro… I would love to help if I could; in fact, I thought about buying those tires, but I would have had to wait for them to come in, and I needed tires immediately, so I went with Kuhmo 712s.

I think people would be more prone to help you if they had feedback, but these tires are still really new, and I’m not sure if anyone here has bought them and had time to review them.

If you think about it, it’s going to take a while before people can even comment on tread life and stuff like that anyway, because they’re so new. You might need to be the ‘guinea pig’ for us and let us know how you like 'em

Sorry I can’t help ya…

I have the 615’s and so far I love them. I havent broke them loose on the street in hard corners. I havent taken my car to the track yet, but so far they feel just like the 215’s when at temperature. I dont know about their rain traction yet since it hasnt rained here in a while, but its supposed to be better. I give them 2 thumbs up!

Yeah i know they are really new, that is why i am having a hard time getting any kind of a review on them.
But i know there is a couple dealers on here that sell them and they should have some sort of info available.
I am getting married in Dec and don’t want to waste $450 on a set of tires that suck etc.
Just want to use the money wisely on something that is safe and sticky.

Well, again, sorry I can’t help you with the 615s…

However, I used to run on Yokohama ES100s, and when I changed out my wheels (took off my 17" Konigs and put on GSR Fat Fives) I ended up going with the Kuhmo 712s. I am EXTREMELY happy with them, and I got them for $400 out the door, including warranty from Discount Tire.

You might just want to go that route… HTH

Aside form the azenis being sticky the most appealing aspect for me is that they have really stiff sidewalls.

With my suspension as built/stiff as it is, any regular tires on there I end up rolling the sidewalls instantly. (speaking from experience)

So I am sorta forced into having to have a better than average tire, hence why I have been running the azenis for the last 4 tire changes on the teg. I also enjoy autocrossing frequently as well.

Just the reasoning in trying to find out as much as possible before i put something on there i am going to be stuck with or financially getting bent over on. Last time I purchased azenis i paid $75 to the door each, now they are $100 each.

Wet grip is a huge concern as well with the daily deluge we have in the summers here.

thanks for input preston and others,
ryan

there are many tires that are more… “sticky” than azenis. What was the original question again? If you step up to an “R” compound tire, you’ll see more gumballs than you will with azenis.

Basically my current azenis are on their way out and i would like to know if the new ones are as better/equal to/worse than their predecessors.

As well as any other tire that close in comparison that would be a good substiution.

I’ve done plenty of research on a slew of mid-ranged priced tires and the ones that always seem to pop up are the BFG g-force sports. At 75.00 a piece they seem reasonable. I plan to order them soon to auto-x on and as soon as I get a few runs on them I’ll let you know how they hold up.

thanks a lot man, i’ll look into those.
as i said earlier, i love the stiff sidewall of the azenis the most, so that is what i am really looking for

anyone have any experience with the hankook r-s2 z212 … http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?sw=false&cs=205&pc=11859&rd=15&ar=50

:hmm:

I don’t buy French tires and I don’t buy Korean tires… But some do

good point

I do. I’m cheap :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m kind of in the same boat you are, and I was told to try the RS2’s. They’re cheaper than the 615’s and they’re supposed to be as good traction-wise.

I autocrossed on the RT215’s for a season and just switched to the Hankook RS2’s this season. Can’t be happier myself. I run Fuzion Zri’s on the street and the Hankooks on the track, and sometimes street. I doubt you’ll ever NEED the Azenis. I don’t have any traction problems with my Fuzions.
