when i put my upper strut bar on it did not totally clear my throttle thing. to make it properly fit i am going to have to use washers. did any of you do this? i noticed pics of some tegs bar sitting on their throttle. will this cause problems later. the bar is off ebay. driving gear. the upper rear went on fine (with cutting plastic) and the lower rear fine also.
it seems to me somebody else got the same strut bar…should i put washers under them or would that take the point out of it
You’ll need a whole mess of washers. I’ve had cheap bars before and they never fit right.
I now use a Cusco bar:
that picture is perfect my bar is like 2 inches lower in the same place. thanks man
any other pics or suggestions? i saw one guy with his bar on its side to avoid the thing i was talking about. because it was on its side it was closer to the engine
will washers under my strut bar mess things up?
im in the same boat right now

No, but you’re going to need a whole bunch of them to make it work, perhaps more washers than you have thread for. That was my problem with the old setup, I needed so many washers to clear my Dashpot that I would have needed to press out the OEM pillowmount studs and get new ones.
so driving gear stuck us all?
how sensitive is the dashpot?
se-37k and morpheus did you not put it on or get a different bar?
i had bought a cheap bar that rested on the dashpot. it wore down a screw on the dashpot and put a dimple in the bar itself. there was crazy vibration at idle so i took it off and gave it to my buddy with a 95si. fit great for him.

I am now using a JDM EF8 Cusco bar.
i contacted driving gear and they said that if the bar his the dashpot this is common. (i have no ABS or engine mods)
to fix the problem bend the bar. that sound like shit to me to bend a upper front strut bar. the representative said that all bars for our car would be like that. this is not true if you look at some pictures. what do you think i should do?
i am almost to the point where i should put up forums on all honda acura sites. so for one i am getting a different, better bar. i also wanting to sell it but dont want to stick a good person with a da.

Sell it to someone with a 4th gen civic or CRX
i let the sucker rest on it. i bent it juss a little to make it work. worked fine i guess…
If it’s hitting the dashpot you could just pull it out. I’ve taken mine out and there is no noticable change.
i had the same problem with my vibrant strut bar. i was able to position it in a way so it wasnt as bad but it still hit. so i bought a neuspeed strut bar which is a stronger bar, clears the dashpot and looks better. i highly recomend the neuspeed bar.
Just remove the dashpot. I removed mine and put washers and it fits good.
can u show me a pic of the dashpot removed? or maybe a close up view of it.
se37-k that looks like my engine compartment. are you the one i see walking around my driveway…:squint:
did your fuse box connect right?? mine got shifteed and wont close on one side??? how do i correct that problem.
how do you take off the dashpot? what does it do when you take it off?
