so i am almost finished with my build, but have come to a snag. i have a 91 rs with a 93 gsr swap obd0 converted to obd1 and have the resister box, for injectors i have a set of dsm 450’s. everything is set to go, but i have changed my mind and want to run bigger injectors like 650’s or 750’s.
I’ve searched a little bit, but couldn’t find what i need to do to upgrade. Do i just physically take out the 450’s and stick in the larger injectors and still use the resistor box? i am confused. any help would be appreciated.
it depends if you are wanting to run saturated or peak and hold injectors. saturated injectors come in the obd 1 and peak and hold come in the obd 0. i prefer the peak and hold (wring in my own resistor box), but both have their advantages.
go to google and type in saturated vs. peak and hold and a million things should come up comparing the two.
there all priced pretty much the same so if you are wanting to get more out of this later but nothing too crazy, I would go with precision 880cc injectors as those handle upwards of around 670hp. if not, there are the ID1000s and that’s what my tuner suggested to me but the price jumps considerably and you would ditch the resistor box. just my .02
thanks for the replies guys!
i think i found a deal on some precision peak and hold 780’s cc Mitsubishi style. i have to do a little more research, but i believe since i already have the 450’s all set up with the resister box, o-rings, and grommets, i can just physically swap them out for the 780’s? someone correct me if im wrong?
why do you need injectors that big i have 525s and they are still to big
Because my tuner said the 450s will only get me to 300hp, and i’m built to handle alot more than that, and. Can get a steal of a deal on 780s
