thinking of doing this tomorrow, where should i put the inline fuse? between the toggle switch and the relay? or between the switch and the pump itself? or both?
also, according to the Haynes Manual its a YELLOW/BLACK wire that goes to the fuel pump. whats up with that?
The yellow black wire is at the rear of the car at the pump itself. I have used that wire as well, and it worked the same as what I have now. My current setup is tapped into the green/black wire at the relay itself. Mine works exactly as it is supposed to, when the switch is on the car runs. Flip it off, and the car will die. I havent had any problems. I used the Yellow/black wire at the fuel pump in my old car, and it worked great as well. Just kind of depends where you want to locate the switch. If you are going to put the switch somewhere in the rear, I would use the fuel pump wire. If you want the switch up front, use the relay green/black wire. I have moved my switch all over the car, and it doesnt really matter that the switch is within 5 feet of the wire you tapped into or not, it is just easier to run the wires to the switch if you have both in the same region.
Haha, no problem man, just glad to see that you resurrected your beautiful DA! This is a great thing for anyone to do because it only costs you about 5 bucks and it could be the difference between waking up to a pile of shimmering glass on your driveway with your car nowhere in sight or just having to replace a couple broken parts. I know that I feel much better about leaving my car anywhere when I have multiple kill switches installed along with a very good pager alarm and soon a detachable steering wheel! I hope this tip prevents many Integras from being stolen!
im confused, im looking to the left when im looking up from the floor or to the right when im on the floor i’ve senn like 3 boxes with that name on it.
I’d recomed adding a fuse relay between the switch and the pump to prevent failure incase you get a short or something. also make sure to not flip the swtich on/off when you have the ignition in the on position to manny times, doing this could blow out your main fuel relay, that’s what happend to me anyways. My 02. cents for the day. Good luck and hide those switches well.
