Fuel Pump Question

My setup:
14b turbo
1g DSM BOV
450cc injectors
Ford probe intercooler
custom SS intercooler piping
BMC log manifold

My question is if I am able to use my stock fuel pump with my setup without a problem. I have a 93 DA, and all I want is 200whp daily driven. I will be using Überdata. I was going to use the walbro 255lph, but it may not be necessary for my simple setup.

Its not necessary for your goals…but its good insurance.

You have an older car ya know. You should be fine without one though.

I’ll tell you right now I’ve done everything to my car, taken engines out, engiens in, build engines, trubo kits, all electrical. And I’ve never had such a pissed off day at my car in my entire life like when I did my fuel pump. hahaha. I just couldn’t find an easy way to do it… If you got the time and cash. i say do it…

Dont you have to drop the gas tank to get to the fuel pump?

yes sir

It was really that bad?

I have a 91 and it took me about 2 hours in and out…only problem I had is one of my straps busted so my tank is only held on by one strap now. :hmm:

Ya me and my friend had to drop the tank, everyone thinks it under the back seat you can only get to the regulator, putting the tank back again was hard.

hha well I did it by myself as well and I just couldn’t find an easy way to do it. lol. Eventually got it tho. It was the hardest putting the tank back in. kinda big and sorta ehavy and I couldn’t find the right angle. but meh. lol

replacing the gas tank is a snap, i do it all the time repairing peace of crap cheverolets. those things break down the most where i live.

you did make sure the tank was as empty as possible right :hmm:

OH DAMN I knew somethnig was wrong… jk ahaha yea I emptied it.

45 minutes in and out. BAM! Flat rate makes you hustle a little more. Oh, it also helps if you plan ahead and spray lube the bolts for the straps and such the night before. Having a lift rox0rs!

You guys are too l337 for me. haha

Everyone has their demons…your’s is just a gas tank

I need to do mine soon, so we will see how it goes. Ive had it for about 6 months but ive been putting it off.

If you’re going to do it, a 255 isn’t necessary if you’re only looking for 200whp. A 190 should do the job just fine.

For the price difference it’s worthwhiel to jsut get the 255. the 255 is no louder then the 190 either

How loud is the 255?

a floor jack and a big slab of wood are a fuel tank droppers best freind. Sit the tank on the wood and keep it all supported by the jack. When the tank is disconeccted simply roll the tank out. I changed mine in about an hour and a half.

slightly lighter than stock
