fuel pump question

hey i installed my inline walbro fuel pump. i havent started it yet. my question is do i need to take out the other fuel pump in the tank?. will they work together? if not can i take out the fuse so wont work or do i have to remove it completly? please let me know asap…thanks

come on guys. please let me know so i can finish this up.

You don’t have to take it out, but its a big restriction in the fuel flow. Most people just install the walbro in tank and ditch the other pump. You won’t get maximum flow if the walbro has to pull it through the other pump…Unless you have them both running at the same time? Don’t see it causing a huge problem

I just went with the 255 Walboro InTank Fuel Pump…The best way to get better fuel flow is by removing the InTank Pump…So for that reason I just went with the InTank Walboro…Since you already have the In Line…Then just take the Stock Pump out from the Tank which is a royal pain…Be safe…

do you think its bad enough to cause any damage from the flow? i have the 450’s in. i have one in the tank and one in the engine bay from the filter to the fuel rail.could i keep both since they are as far apart as possable. I just dont wanna have to take the back seat out to get to the tank or have to drop it out all together. anybody experience this

i was told by another site to keep the both running…NEED SOME HELP GUYZ… I wanna take their advice plus the fact that they seem more interested in helping me than this site but i really perfer your opinions…please?

please help

sell it and get an intank walbro and be done with it…back in 97 when i first turbo’d my teg,i had an msd inline pump and the noise was really annoying…

I would just go with the In Tank Pump…I could hear mine and it is in the tank…I can emagine an InLine one…

Sorry I took so long…Just go with the InTank one bro…It will be the best way to do this…Good luck…

When the shop removed my Tank…On my 4 door Teg…They did not do anything with the rear seats…Or even in the trunk…All was done from under the Teg…

If what you want to do is go the easy way…Then that is all you…Sometimes when you go the easy way…It will become THE HARD way later…Take your time and do it all the CORRECT way, Once…

hey dont mean to bash on inlines but i have heard nothing but bad about them… I soon will be dropping my tank aswell… Its winter now and in chicago w/ no garage to work in it may be a month or soo before i get it done… But what I would do is sell the inline fuel pump and pick up a walbro intank… they are MUCH more relaible one of the reasons is the alcohol in gasoline acts as a coolant and keeps the pump in a bath of cool liquid to prevent over heating… just would rather you get it done right instead of having a major problem down the road… ie: pump failure-leaning out-blowing motor… ect

im running both and its been perfect. thanks anyway guys

On our cars you have to drop the tank to get to the fuel pump. In other hondas you can get to it from under the rear seats, but not with ours.

some have sending units/pumps integral yea DA;s and Ef;s do not :frowning:
