Fuel Pump Question

Got a quesiton about the stock fuel pump in our g2’s. I’m building up my fuel system for my turbo g2. I got the dsm 450cc blue top injectors but i was just wondering if its necessary to upgrade the fuel pump? I’m going to be using turboedit since i have an obd0 (if it makes any difference)

Found the answer with a little more searching. How do you delete unwanted posts?

so whats your ‘‘answer’’?

I checked over on team-integra and i was reading that some people run the 450’s with the stock fuel pump and they said it should be able to support the dsm 450’s. I’m not sure if i trust what they but since i’m low on funds, i’ll see how it runs w/o the fuel pump and if anything doesnt read out right, i’ll pick up a walbaro 255lph pump. But hey, if it does work out then why bother?

Generally with 450’s you "shouldn’t need to upgrade fuel pumps, I didn’t with my setup on my B16, or my buddies LS, but on two occasions of cars I was tuning for customers, the fuel pumps ran out and couldn’t provide nearly enough fuel, but high mileage old age could also be a cuplrit as both of those cars were near 300,000 KMS

Nice. Arryte then. The plan is to go w/o upgrading fuel pump but if i run into any trouble involving that, then upgrade it is. My car is a 90 ls wit about 150,000 miles. Hopefully no problems will come up with the fuel pump. Thanks for the info

Tchleung has all the answers.

i have the blue top 450’s i have been boosted for about two years with my stock pump:cross:

i have an external fuel pump selling for 40 bucks.

Mannn i love this forum  Thanks for all the responses. This weekend i’ll be installing the 45o’s and then i’ll be buying a rom burner to finally tune my car. Imma be running turboedit and hopefully my chipping skills pulled through for me otherwise i’ll have to wait another week for another stock ecu to chip. First time chipping so ehh we’ll see how i did.

To gsrpitt: Thanks for the offer but i’d rather get a brand new one just cause i’m iffy bout things like that.

And another question, just like on average, how hot does the charge piping, before and after intercooler? I didnt really search for the answer to it but i’m sure that someone will have a guess/answer.

The hot side of the IC will always feel warm or hot, depending how hard you’re pushing the turbo. As long as the other side is COLD, then you are good to go. My IAT reading off Intake manifold plenum in the summers were generally around 80* going off my datalogs. I have a fairly large IC and water/meth injection as well tho which helps alot with the IAT

a nice 255 walbro goes for around $99 brand new. thats cheap from what they use to be. peace of mind for $100 it’s worth it

oh u’ll want to run an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator with it. it’s a very strong pump and even those cheepy b&m fpr’s have a very hard time bringing down the pressure. i picked up a proffessional products one (firewall mounted with true AN line fittings) and it’s actually a very decent unit for the price and gets the job down well
