gas mileage

thats kind of like what i do. every time i put gas i reset the trip. i mostly do it so i know that everything is running the way it should. my mileage is VERY consistent so it gives me peace of mind that things are in working order enough that the gas is being burned properly…

on all my tegs it was always about 21 to 26mpg. if i would drive highway only i could get around 29mpg. 90% of my driving is city driving and i liked to accelerate decently fast with the teg. with my 300whp turbo teg i get about the same or better for highway. if i boost a lot though im not sure what i get since it depends on to many things.

yea same here. DA_all_day youre right, after looking at some of my receipts i never filled up more than 11 gallons. i could probably go 40 miles, but i dont want to run out of gas somewhere

I’m not sure of any other way to gauge your mpg without upgrading your car to OBD2 and installing a scangauge. This is the way I have been gauging mpg for the last 18 years. If anyone else here who has stated their mpg averages is using another method (some new fangled math), please tell.

B17A1 I/H/E and i’m getting about 27 mpg on average

lol new fangled math? wow. division isnt to complicated last i checked.

but um… do this…

get as low as you can in your gas tank. put gas in your car
reset the trip meter drive
`when your really low on your gas and you need to fill up again, divide the miles on your trip by the amount of gallons you put in and bam boom pow. a rough estimate for your mpg…

i filled up a few days ago and just noticed this. i can go about 180 miles then i hit half a tank after it goes just a little below the half line it drinks it like crazy like maybe get close to 80-100 miles out of the rest

maybe its just our cars, cuz i notice that mine does that too. the first half takes a while to get to half way then the second half pretty much evaporates…

our stock gauges arent very accurate in anything. so it’s normal that what seems to be the first half last longer then the second.

I just figured out my mileage by filling until shutoff, setting the trip meter to zero, then driving and keeping track of how much I refilled back to the top.

565 km on 45.207 L, that’s 12.5 km/L

OR for the 'mercans,

353 mi on 11.9424 US gal, that’s 29.5 mi/gal

This current Integra that I have is a bone stock 5 spd 91 LS 2-dr, no spoiler (if that may minutely have anything to do with the coefficient of drag etc.),
with 184xxx km, ~115xxx mi.

How many miles per gallon/tank do you get in your teg?

I think im getting sucky mileage on my 92 integra. It has I/H/E and im getting like 300 miles or less to the tank. I was just windering how many miles to the tank everyone else is getting. I was also getting this mileage when it was stock. it has new sparkplugs and wires. the things i havent changed is the fuel filter and 02 sensor. lets get this post going by stating some tips and the following:

 • miles per tank

that’s still 25 mpg. if that’s city driving what are you complaining about? EPA rating on a 4 dr gen 2 is 22 city and 28 highway. so i say you are doing the norm.

-avg 27mpg = 360mi/tank. mix of freeway and street. been driving like a granny and got 30.1mpg on my fuel up last night which equals to 398mi/tank. if driven hard, i get about 25mpg = 330mi/tank

have you check the psi on your tires? that helped me. i do the 10% subtracted from the max psi on the tires.

it would be awesome if i could get 360. but your running a b17 so i wonder how big of a factor that plays?

i havent , but im going to do that asap and see if it helps.

how are you getting 398 on a tank and saying that you got 30.1mpg? Da’s have 12 gallon tank not 13.22

nice. im going to replace my fuel filter, pcv valve, and o2 sensor and see if it makes a difference.
