gas mileage

I think you’re getting it mixed up. The DC Chassis has a 13.2 gallon tank while the DA chassis only has a 12 gallon tank. I’m not putting my balls to it but I remember my 91 manual saying it was 12 and this site seems to reinforce that.

Might be wrong though.

Straight from the factory service manual (Helms).

spikeymike is right. Just checked my original manual and lo and behold 13.2 gallons. Sorry for the misinformation.

i’ve been averaging roughly 26 mpg’s… 93 DB1, full interior, full sounds w/ AC… B18A1 180k miles, motor all stock internals, t3/t04e .56 trim, precision 525cc injectors, 255 pump, @ 10.5 PSI, ecu is only base mapped by phearable (too lazy to fully tune).

This thread makes me feel bad. When I was running the auto I was only getting like 22-ish at best. That’s with mostly conservative driving. Mind you though, it pretty much all city for me

it’s the downside of driving an old car. My 2004 TL can get what you get city, but with a 3.2L V6. I can get low 30s highway at around 70 mph, and as high as 35 mpg doing 60mph.

Filled the DB2 for the first time. 22 mpg… Not what I was expecting for mileage. Tune-up maybe in order!

Wow. I’ve been getting 27\28 mpg’s in my db2. Worst I’ve gotten was 25 mpg. Run lucas through it and see if that helps. Its the cheapest option.

I used to only get like 20mpg till i replaced the O2, oil and filter, TPS, Map, IACV and just about everything i can think of changing, cause i had no CEL at all. lol
Now I’m about 26MPG in town, and about 35 or so on highways. Last i checked, i got 350 miles on top off, and still had a quarter tank to go, but that was all highway. It also depends on how hot it is outside, and what times you put gas in the car. If you fill in the middle of the day, all the vapors are built up, but fill in the morning or night, less vapors, and you loose less gas.

i have some work to do, my mpg have been getting progressively worse since i got it out the shop

Shiet. I get only 200 miles to a full tank with my b18c1 with fully bolt ons. I must change something.

Too much Vtec yo?

Delete the secondary. That’s what i did and not only i got much more power and less RPM drop at shift, but better MPG as well.

Just pull the little hose off the plunger thing on the manifold if its stock, and plug it up.

Im gettin 375 miles to the tank with no vtec engagement on b18c1 w/ b16 trans no cat no iab full bolt ons regular maintenace and while running rich due to tune… What kind of mileage are u getting 91_LS? Also using chevrom 91 gas.

Yes. Since I swapped this thing in this past feb. I always engage in vtec. Bahhhhhhhhh

Delete the 2nd? Would that be on the skunk2 pros series mani I got?

Here’s what I’m running.

Skunk 2 pro series 68mm throttle body
Skunk 2 pro series intake mani
DC headers 4-2-1 planning on switching to the 4-1 Headers I got
Greddy complete exhaust with stock cat convertor
Brand new 02 sensor from oreillys
AEM cai
P72 virgin ecu

I’m sitting about the same as you, maybe more or less, depending on the weather and all.

If you have an aftermarket, then don’t worry about it, cause you don’t have them. But, see about tuning that ECU, i did and got great gains on power, torque, and MPG. Running aftermarket intake and boltons isn’t going to help without a good tune.
