I think I may have made more work for myself. I uesd Ultra Copper High Temp RTV Gasket (700F). Now I think that it’s no good sine a turbo at open throttle can produce probably around 1400F. Am I wrong? If I’m right then I will have to take the turbo out again and scrape that stuff off and replace it with caskets.
By the way does anyone know where I can buy a gasket for a 14B turbo - for the downpipe and between the turbo and the manifold.
www.atpturbo.com sells a lot of flanges/gaskets, etc. Great company too. I have been using the Ultra copper for my DP and return flange for a while with no problems. I bought a can of Copper Gasket spray from Advanced or Autozone, and sprayed the gasket where the manifold meets the head and where the turbo meets the manifold. Everythings holding up fine for now.
ahhhh I think ultra copper is only for 700º intermitently… Or whatever (not all the time) I think it will eventully fry… O i have zero gasket bettween turbo /dP
