Gauge mounting options
Yeah, same here. Even with my track day car I still like having the vents. Other than the fake CF and lack of vents the above mounting looks really good, very clean. I especially like the consistency of light coloring and that he used the same CF for the gauge cluster, sorta ties it all together. Although the smoked lens looking one does stand out from the others.

I thought I’d posted in this thread before. Maybe it was somewhere else. But here’s mine.

It’s not perfect, but it works, and that’s what counts for now. Eventually I’d like to redo it, and probably add another gauge as well (oil temp). I’d like them to be higher up so they’re easier to see at a glance. Putting where the dash vents is is perfect for height and angle. My liking of the dash vents may just have to suffer. Putting 'em where the radio used to be is a little better for height compared to where they are now, but the angle is worse, plus, once I install my FLP that may block the view as well. And I’ve never liked the pillar pods or mounting them on top of the dash - mainly because they attract too much attention. Hmm, decisions decisions. Oh well, it’s so minor that it’s not even on my to do list at the moment.
what type of material did you end up using to create that block off/mounting surface i really like that creativity

also, did anyone ever consider mounting a gauge in the coin pocket on the left side of the dash right about where your knee would be

Old mounting location above. New gauges and location, although I need to get a pic of them installed in the car.

This is how I did mine

This thread makes me want to go out and buy gauges.
