alright, Im getting closer and closer with parts here and there, but i have a few questions. This is my one and only car so Im scared out of my mind something is going to go wrong and im gonna be out, just as a refresher, here is my setup:
b18b block
gsr head w/ skunk2 im
eagle rods
je 9:1 pistons
acl bearings
arp head and rod bolts
balanced bottomend
oem everything
greddy oil sandwich with extra port for turbo
ls tranny (looking for hydro gsr)
currently running to 7.5k every now and then just for fun
currently i have a precision turbo intercooler, greddy type s, and i just picked up a t3 .60/.63 from a thunderbird that will be sent off next week to be rebuilt by blaastperformance, i plan to run the internal gate on the turbo at 10psi. tuning will be done with chrome pro (i hope) on a dyno trying to keep it conservative with the a/f around 11.5, I have full plans for an in car wideband and everything to keep an eye on everything while going down the road. I am also planning to do this and retain the ac cause it gets hot as fuck in SC
my concerns are many, mainly I want to know if the wastegate will be ok at that 10psi, its getting replaced in the rebuild, im just not looking to go external with it because it makes it harder to keep the ac. Im not trying to set any land speed records, im shooting for around 250whp, which should be more then achievable with the ls/vtec and 10psi. but is there anything i should look out for? This is a semi budget project, but im trying to do things right and buy quality parts. how long can i expect this to last? Basically Im just looking for some feedback on potential things to lookout for and be cautious of. I see guys on the forums blowing up motors everyday because of boost.
Also I had a question about a basemap I found, It fits my project almost identical but its at an elevation of 4500ft, im not that high, i might be at 1000, maybe, so would i need to add more fuel to that map, because the air is thinner and i would think i would have a higher af ratio at a lower altitude
Thanks for all the feedback and let me know what you think and any suggestions as well
