just curious if anyone ever did gloss black moldings. figured it might look pretty cool.
Just my opinion but I think gloss black mouldings would look good on a gloss black car. Same as White on White, Red on Red so on and so on.
I was also debating this on my grey teg. They are starting to look like crap. i did it on my last car with a medium black but it started to chip after about a year,(even though i sanded the trim pieces) but i would imagine if you used adhesion promotor that it would come out decent.
The painters at my shop do use a special system when painting plastics because when the plastic heats up it releases oils that cause those adhesion problems. I don’t know what they do though cause I’m not a painter.

They painted my front moulding gloss black when the car went in for repairs and I told them to take it back and make it a satin black. Gloss was way too shiny.
Hehe, in the pics it looks the same. They also didn’t paint my grille black, and they painted the lip black first time round.
That looks sweet! I’m redoin my mouldings in black when I repaint it next year. The guy I bought it from had sanded down the front and rear bumpers to do a color match. I say screw that. Thanks for the tip about the satin black. :burnout: :manual:

i have gloss black on my front bumper molding and i have to say it looks nice since my car is somewhat of a dark color…i like it

The pics don’t show it but believe me, satin black (they told me they used satin black) looks alot better than gloss black. It now looks like the unfinished trim does after a coat of Armor-All.
Only the bar and passenger side guard were re-sprayed, the bonnet was sprayed several years back. Whole car was clayed, prepped, and waxed after I picked it up, hence the shine.
What to use to bring the satin or gloss back to black mouldings. some parts on my red GS look opaque…

Teg parts aren’t too easy to find over here, not in good condition and for a reasonable price anyway.
expensive is better than not being abled to find them. have you ever thought about buying jdm one piece headlights? if so how much would you want for your adm ones?
clear bumper lights are like 10$ plus shipping on ebay, i duno how much shipping would be tho.

just some of the things im looking for are the driver side coin tray, blower, cables that go from the hatch & gas cap latch to the gas cap & hatch release…
and i just want adm headlights.
Ye I do but one bumper light is cracked.
I don’t think I’d get JDM’s, it’d be easy enough for me to rewire mine so that they work like the JDM’s, only minus the fog’s glare guards.

I’ll keep an eye out for thsoe parts for you. Most coin trays I have seen are broken or missing, although I had posted a fix on here many years ago.
