Guages Question and clarification

I believe the answer is yes but just to clarify, for boost and most other applications, mechanical gauges are more acurate, durable and better than electrical correct? Could someone please explain why if I am wrong or it varies depending on project? Thanks!

Mechanical gauges seem to work fine for me. The only electronic gauge i would consider getting is an oil pressure gauge. There is something about an oil line running inside your car that i dont like.

Agreed on that but I need to make sure I get an acurate reading. Just want things done 100% right the first time around. But if I’m wrong now someone please speak up before I get things all connecteed and what not…

None of the guages I have ever seen on the market are really that accurate, mechical or otherwise.

The only ones that I would totally trust are the guages that come with there own calibrated sensors.

I use alot of autometers full sweep gauges, which are their higher end. They claim to be very accurate, and shit for the price, they better be. My Fuel pressure gauge was like 180!

That’s what I’ve got. Just bought all Autometer C2 gauges. Oil press, oil temp, water temp, fuel pressure, boost. All mechanical as well, that’s why I was so curious… thanks guys!

Keith, I see your going to the darkside now… Good luck and let me know if you need any parts or have any questions. If you need some custom work done Josh is ths man.

What up Alan… LTMS. Yeah bro, the turbine has sucked me in… LOL. I actually do need some work done and soon. I sold my other motor smack mostly cause I just got bored. It never even saw the engine bay. Now I need a downpipe, IC piping and have my front brace modified and IC mounted. When can I have it towed to the shop?

Pressure gauges should be mechanical b/c electric gauges are too slow to show a sudden pressure drop (i.e. an oil line pops off, etc.) This has been discussed several times…but HTH…

I can handle that for you, we have been doing that to quite a few g2’s round here
